Julian’s the type of guy to be like “OMG TURN ME INTO A VAMPIRE” and then chicken out last second. Anyway he’s the main love interest for this AU.

The existence of vampires is a constant debate in Norrisville, so inevitably there’s the occasional vampire hunter. Julian’s aware of this so he has piercings instead of actual fangs, just so he doesn’t get mistaken for a vampire.

Randy and Howard never believed in vampires; they just thought it made more sense for the Vampire of Norrisville to be like. Some victorian goth with sick fighting skills. Howard is VERY confident in his beliefs to the point that Randy doesn’t end up telling him for a WHILE just because he knows Howard wouldn’t believe him. At least he doesn’t actively dislike vampires.
