Happy Halloween! I couldn’t resist ending this month of vampires with my new favorite - Near Dark (1987, Kathryn Bigelow.) This film blends elements of romance, horror, and a moody western. And you just can’t help but fall in love with Bill Paxton as Severen. Check it out on Ovguide (free)

Great horror remakes are hard to come by, but Fright Night (2011, Craig Gillespie) delivers. The updated effects and stellar cast (Colin Farrell, David Tennant, and the late Anton Yelchin) make this an awesome choice, even if you weren’t already familiar with the original. Rent it on Fandango!

A paranoid horror fan thinks his next door neighbor is a creature of the night! Sounds about right. Cult classic Fright Night (dir. Tom Holland, 1985) is streaming on Crackle (https://www.crackle.com/fright-night for free) and Hulu

Up tonight: The Monster Club (1981, Roy Ward Baker)! The film serves up a variety of monsters, including Vincent Price in his only role as a vampire (surprisingly.) Streaming on YouTube!
