TGIWednesday: The most haunted city in Florida

I saw some bizarre random article about ghost tours and other shenanigans and almost fell over when I saw that the parking for "ghost tours" was at my old elementary school that I can see about 100 yards from my house. You can go on YouTube and type in "Clearwater Florida the most haunted city in Florida" and see it! I would have figured it was St. Augustine because that's really old and creepy, think conquistadors and Fountain of Youth. What's the point? There's good and bad all around us, yin and yang and we just have to roll with it and instead of hope. I like the word faith. Have faith that things can and will improve and turn out better than they were. Life is an ebb and flow like the daily tides of high and low and always subject to change. Know that your life can and will improve if you just ride out the waves!

MY DAILY PRAYER SUBSCRIBER

Hi Jimmy,

This was one of my prayer requests during the period 3/18 to 4/18/24:

“Prayers to be cleared from April 19, 2024, jury duty service and all future timelines going forward.”

In review, I received my first Grand Jury Summons the first week of January for jury service on February 16th. I immediately sent in paperwork from my optometrist noting that I could no longer drive in the dark due to impending cataract evaluation/surgery. (I would have had to leave the house by 6 am well before sunrise to arrive on time.) It was shot down because the optometrist was not considered a licensed physician.

Here’s the emailed response in part:

"The farthest day available we were able to postpone for Grand Jury is for 4/19/2024. Therefore, that is your new date of service. You will be receiving a new summons with the new information."

Guess what, Jimmy? I never received another new summons in the mail! I waited and waited for the summons to show up, but the prayer worked! I didn’t have to drive the 30 miles and possibly sit there all day and wait for my group to be selected Whew! The prayer must have been on steroids! How I slipped through the system, I guess we will never know; but thank you, Source, and thank you, Jimmy for launching my request out to the heavens!

TGIWednesday: Stress up on the roof

I got a brand new roof about a year ago now on this 100 year old home of ours. My mother used to say it was the hottest house in the summer and the coldest house in the winter, and if the termites stop holding hands, it would collapse! Imagine my shock when every time it rained hard it looked like the Rainforest Cafe in what we call our Blue Room. The stress of having multiple visits from different crews never helped. It was a flat roof section and it defied logic that it should leak at all with everything so sealed up! On the 6th visit, four gentlemen who did not speak a word of English, did their best to tell me it was the windows about 3 feet above the roof that were leaking. Talk about stress. It made zero sense, which was what I told the main man when we spoke, but I took his advice anyway. Fast forward to Tropical Storm warnings and gale force winds this past week and voila - no leaks! Stress is like that in a way, it's always the last cause or origin that you're not seeing. Do your best to become less stressed. Try Tai Chii, Qi Gong, yoga, pilates, gardening, pickleball, hug a tree, walk barefoot in the sand... whatever twirls your curl, but make the effort to find some peace and grounding any chance you get. TGIWednesday: World Anxiety

TGIWednesday News

Total solar eclipse, earthquakes, Mercury Retrograde, bizarro weather and even a comet named after the Devil, not to mention wars and political and financial unrest all roaming around on the movie set of Earth this week. Feels more like we're in a simulated cataclysm video game than living on a planet. This whole month we're focused on reducing anxiety, stress and tension. There's no doubt the planet is feeling all this mess right now as well. What to do? As the Buddha would say, "Be an observer of the play, not a participant." In other words, it's ok to hear about or see it, but do your best to NOT become caught up in it and obsessing over it. Some would say, do something as simple as "sending love" and that will go a long way. "What fun things are we going to do now?" my youngest son used to say. How about lets do some calming things? a walk in nature, a visit to the beach or mountain, practice Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, read a good book, or meditate. Do what calms you and make every effort to tune out the overkill or "fear porn" as someone once called it. Find your happy place and visit there often!

I always hand my little girlfriend cash for our lottery and scratchers because we pinky swore we're ride or die and we're splitting everything 50/50 and of course the other day she screamed, "I won!" and I said, "Don't you mean we won - ride or die 50/50 right baby?" And she turned to me with a look of shock and said, "that's only for the big ones." Out of the blue and on a whim my girlfriend picked up lotto tickets for both of us and handed me one. As luck would have it hers was what we call a dud, while mine is attached as a winner of $52!!! My girlfriend got a high end vacuum cleaner at an outlet store for $50.00 and it's on Amazon for $150 plus shipping. We got a bill the other day from our file storage provider in the cloud arena. Ok, I didn't make the meme but it is funny that the therapist watching their new blue-haired client walk towards their office is thinking, "Oh yay, this will be a great long-term client." To me the underlying thought in this is - they're in one way chasing trying to stand out and make a statement and in another, oddly on edge and sometimes even withdrawn - so a therapist's dream. Like the 20-something, blue-haired young lady that cut my hair on Valentine's Day. She was bemoaning the fact that she tried to walk into a store to get her boyfriend a present but she said, "Jimmy I looked down every aisle and on every ceiling the place was covered in mylar balloons! So I got the heck out of there!" Mid-haircut I had to turn around and probably channeled my grumpy father's stare of disdain at her. What are you avoiding that is really a paper tiger 🐅 keeping you from loving yourself and others? I see you as opening up your heart 💗to give and receive love as you read this now!

He loves these fish and is napping on the fishtank! He is a male Calico which is very rare! 🐈 He rolled up one day in our backyard in the young kitten stage and he's been a pampered boy ever since! 😻 He runs the show and is very social with all other cats and people and I get intuitively that he was previously an alien's pet. 🤯 All cats are unique, as are dogs and all other pets, and like people we all have our preferences and opinions. 🙂 So what do you love that you need more of? I was returning from a nice visit in the park with my youngest son and granddaughters. I decided to take the shortest fastest route instead of my usual meandering tour home. This included a six lane bustling road where I maintained the 45 mph speed. Overly aware of my surroundings, I noticed a 20-something year old man on a bike dressed in all green. His hoodie, pants and even shoes were green! For a split second I got that spidey sense 🕷️ saying he's going to pull right out in traffic on his bike! Traffic was heading East and he was coming from the South heading North. Sure enough, it all happened so fast that without looking, he started biking 🚴🏼 right across the road into heaps of traffic. I had both hands on my horn and both feet on my brakes as I skidded up to him riding his bike right in front of my car.🚗 He never looked up and slowly continued towards the median in the highway! He could have easily wound up being a big green bug on my windshield! 🐛 Clearly he has "mental health" as my girlfriend refers to when someone is acting crazy. All's well that ends well and no one was hurt, but I know that from now on when given the choice, I am taking the scenic route to wherever I go! Where are you rushing to today? Slow it all down and take your time. Will this matter 5 or 10 years from now? We know the answer to that!. Y'all be safe out there!

Dreading my annual eye exam, I lumbered into my eye doctor's office and did every test they conjured up. Looking for the ship on the horizon in the screen, puff of air, pictures of my deep inner eyes. Finally I sat in the exam chair and exchanged pleasantries with my stiff English eye doctor. He moved that bulky giant black mask machine in front of my eyes and I swore as I looked through it, I thought I was going blind. I could barely see black stick figures on a white background. Forget about identifying letters or numbers; what in the world was going on? He flipped through the little toggles to strengthen my Rx, still nothing! Good heavens, am I going blind? Did I get cataracts walking into the room? Did I pick up energetically on someone else’s vision? Energetically it represents what we don’t want to see. Mystified, I said, “Doc, what in the world is happening here?” He pulled the giant plastic exam mask away from me and reached for a tissue. Wiping the inside of the lenses on the machine, he quipped in his English accent, “Sometimes the glass fogs up.” Really? How many folks left here with the wrong Rx was my immediate thought?! Not everything blocking you or causing you weakness is ethereal or even over-thinking, because sometimes it’s a simple answer to your challenges and the simple answers can be right in front of you! WHAM! No it’s not the POP musical group George Michael was in, but rather a mishap at LA Fitness. There is such an eclectic group of folks at this gym from hard core trainers, to people barely phoning it in. The locker rooms can often be crowded and certainly noisy. Closing my locker door it met the cabinet with a BANG noise. The man sitting on a floor table next to me nearly came out of his skin and gave me a look of death! “Good God man, must you slam the door so loud?” I said, “I am so sorry, it slipped and it would never purposely offend you.” He mumbled on about other obscure grievances about the gym and as I walked to the showers. I said, “ I hope someone is driving you around because it’s really noisy and haphazard out there on the roads; may this be the worst thing you experience today.” Can you imagine... loud sounds at the gym?... clanging weights, grunting, loud talking and music blaring in the classes - that's pretty much par for the course my man. Loud noises and glare bug me too and I avoid them if I can help it, but you still have to adapt and function in life and there are so many things we have to ignore. Winston Churchill said, “If I stop to throw a rock at every barking dog, I’ll never accomplish my mission.” What noise from idiots, neighbors, friends or relatives are you letting consume you? Let that s#*% go! Stay on your voyage, course and mission by allowing your goals to be accomplished with daily positive interactions. While not a huge fan of big banks, that’s where one of the car loans is placed. Needing the annual print out for payments and other data, I boldly walked into Chase bank. They said they’re doing computer updates and it would be a week before they would have the data. I asked the gentleman, “Can you just mail the print out to me next week?” He replied, "No we can’t mail out anything financial." Me: "How about Email as an attachment?" He replied, "No, I can receive emails, I just can’t email you back." Me: "Ok, how about I email you the day before 7 days is up and you could print it out for me and I’ll pick it up?" "I can do that." he said with some reluctance. Of course he never responded to my email and never printed it out when I went back again; it was like I was starting over. A nice lady banker said, “Do you have an appointment? Seriously? this requires making an appointment?? It felt like an SNL or YouTube slap stick humor experience. I kept all of this mess that night in my daily prayers asking Spirit to sort it out (same thing I do when praying for subscribers). I walked in the next day to find the only teller that wasn’t busy and he miraculously said, “Sure no problem, I’ll print it out for you right now." I gushed over him like he handed me the winning lotto ticket! He said, "Just email me or call me any time you need anything." My takeaway: Big banks bad, God is good. Today it’s important to couple your patience with persistence and press forward making daily progress knowing that you can and you must succeed and you will! I genuinely hope that your new year is off to a fresh start. I know time is a construct, but we can use it constructively as a way to mark positive achievements. Often clients want to tell me about parents, or a spouse passing 11 years ago on this date and can name the dates of all of their past MRI’s. All of the past was necessary, but the more you can erase that from your overthinking/all-consuming brain, the better off you’ll be. It’s fine to note it on medical, legal forms or in a scrap book, but as much as you can stay clear yes, unclear no and running forward - I believe you’ll have a much more stable and forward thinking life!
