Addicted to Sock Knitting!
Finished my first pair of knitted socks a few weeks ago and everyone was right. It is addicting. Now I'm spending all of my free time either knitting socks or buying and collecting the yarn to knit socks.
This means I've been perusing yarn stores on Etsy. Already found a couple of good ones.
EuphoricYarns on Etsy has some beautiful hand dyed variegated yarn. I used this

And turned it into this.

My next sock knitting project is going to use some very vibrant yarn that I bought from LindenWool, also on Etsy.

3D Origami Dragon - Gold/Red
Just finished another Dragon, ordered by a co-worker of my Mother’s.

Supposed to look like a Chinese Dragon. Would look better with gold instead of a yellow, but the paper color is limited and I wanted to keep the cost down.

FarCry5 - Joseph Seed Charm Bracelet
Joseph is up next. Honestly, he was the hardest to find charms for. Religion is a large part of his life, and there are plenty of religious charms, but I want to avoid using the Christian cross. Once I get a hold of a more appropriate cross that resembles the Cult’s, I’ll remove the other crosses.
There’s also not a lot to represent his life before the cult, so I’m going to have to get creative.
Here’s the full bracelet. I used a larger chain for his.

I wish they made charms of the Seven Deadly sins, but it looks like I’m going to have to make those myself later with metal stamping. I’ve gotta save up for the tools though.
Now for a closer look at the charms.

The skull for all the death his cult has caused.
The cross is a placeholder for the cult cross.
The Lord be with you and Faith represents his devotion to God.
The Holy Bible to represent The Book of Joseph.
The bullet, since he does shoot us in the end. Little shit. Also for all the violence he’s responsible for. All the brothers have a bullet charm.

Some basic letter charms for his name. As much as I wanted to spell out Daddy, I don’t want people mistaking it for a bracelet based on my own father. Lol.
Believe, because he keeps trying to get us to believe him and follow his faith.

Another cross, this one looks closer to the Cult cross.
A passport, which is a bit of a stretch, but I wanted something to represent his journey of finding his brothers.
Family, because family is important to all if the Seeds. As long as it’s their family, anyways Could also represent the Cult as a family.
And Love, since Joseph is always preaching about it. Especially to John. Although Joseph’s love is probably the crazy kind.
Future Charms: cult cross, handcuffs, father & daughter charm (I know it’s fucked up 😝 but it was an important part of his life), a car, a church, a gun, sunglasses, baby bottle.

FarCry5 - John Seed Charm Bracelet
Last but not least, the youngest Seed sibling has the most cluttered bracelet. John just has a lot going on. There’s still a handful of charms I want to add to his bracelet, but this is what I’ve got so far.

A lot of these charms represent his rabid faith in Joseph and his penchant for torture. The others are mostly for his tattoos. I figured if they’re important enough for him to get inked on his skin, they should be on his bracelet too.

You’ve got Strong to represent all the shit he’s had to go through and come out the other side. Despite his terrible upbringing, he managed to become a highly successful lawyer.
The cross was the closest I could get to represent the Cult Cross.
The Faith charm = his unsettling devotion to Joseph’s teachings.
The anchor is for one of the tattoos on his arms.
The saw and the hammer, tools he may have used to rip the confessions out of sinners.
And the airplane, for his love of flying.

Went with gold letter charms to make his name stand out and represent his attachment to wealth.

On the other side, we’ve got more charms representing his faith: the cross, Believe in the Father, You have to Love them John. Threw in Passion because I felt it fit him. He’s very passionate about causing pain to - I mean, absolving sinners to purify their soul. Yeah.
The wrench and saw are torture instruments used to help urge sinners to confess.
The key = his bunker key.
The bullet, his love of violence. And like everyone in the cult, I’m sure he has a nice expensive gun.
And lastly, the skull. Pretty obvious, I’d hope.
Future Charms:
Chair, dagger, Bible, scales of Justice, money bags, his sins

Jacob Seed Bracelet

Just got the urge to make a Jacob Seed charm bracelet, so I raided my local Michael’s and put something together in the last 2-3 hours.
Charms included:
Lungs, ribcage, skulls, heart: to represent his philosophy that we’re all just meat + his cannibalism. Maybe the organs came from Miller.
Family: we all know how much he cares for family and how far he’d go to protect them. One of the few things Jacob cares about in his life.
Paw print, bones: for the Judge wolves he trains
Mountain range: pretty self explanatory. He’s a mountain man. In the Whitetail mountains.
Arrow: for all of those damn Bliss arrows he has his Chosen shoot us with.
Focus, Strength, Discipline: to represent his “teachings” during the brainwashing.
Red & Black beads to represent his colors. The red room, his red guns, his hair. Etc
I hope to find some more charms to add in the future. Maybe a gun, knife, and a wolf.
I’m pretty happy with it so far.

3D Origami Blastoise
Received a commission for Blastoise. Bit of a challenge, but I'm happy with how he came out. The pics I took were shitty so I'm gonna make another before I post him. Now I wanna finish the whole evolutionary line.

The Contrary Dame
I went to Sinister Creature Con over the weekend and met a bunch of talented artists and creators. I’m going to be dropping some posts of their lovely work and where to find them.
First up is The Contrary Dame. They primarily deal with dark jewelry.

Here are a few examples of the jewelry they sell on eBay.

You can buy this here.

I love cameos. Listing is here.
They’ve got a lot of cool stuff on their eBay page. I’m not big on jewelry myself, but maybe some of you are.

These are beautiful. They look beyond my level, but I think I'll give it a shot anyway.

Songbird, KNL Dragon, Goatfish designed by Robert Lang | instructions | folded by
I had the chance to visit the OrigamiUSA library while I was in NYC and had a field day. Also being able to fold Robert Lang designs is kind of a dream come true.

Nick Rye the Pilot Guy - Far Cry 5 I finished something! The red for his vest was as close as I could get. Paper selection is a little tricky. Also didn't add his glasses because they are a pain in the butt to make. Who should I make next? Jess Black, Grace Armstrong, Deputy Pratt, or Deputy Hudson?

3D Origami Tutorial: Part 2 – Cutting the Paper
Now that we have all our supplies ready we can get started. As I mentioned in Part 1, I don’t use the industrial paper cutter. I use a combination of a regular paper cutter and scissors, which makes the process a little longer. Both methods work just fine. The industrial is quicker, but it’ a hassle for me because it requires a large, flat surface to be placed down. The smaller cutter allows me to cut paper while on my bed watching YouTube. ;D I just place it on a binder in my lap and cut away.
I’m going to provide links to some useful videos (not mine) that show how to cut 8.5” x 11” paper into 32 different pieces. This is the normal size that I use for my models.
Videos Below
Jewellia7777 - This video shows how to cut pieces with just scissors as well as how to fold them.
DIY Crafts - This one shows how to cut a single sheet into 64 pieces instead of 32. They also use a knife for some reason. I guess that works, too. All you have to do is skip the last cutting step and your left with 32 pieces to work with.
Amel Ptw - Uses a box cutter and a cutting mat. Looks very efficient.
My Method
Supplies: Paper Cutter, Paper, Scissors, Rubber bands
1) Assemble all your supplies and place the paper cutter on a relatively flat surface. You don’t want it to shift or move while cutting. This leads to uneven cuts.
2) I cut the paper in half a total of 5 times. 4 times with the cutter and the last with scissors. I cut along the longer edge of the paper every time, starting with the 11” long side.
Cut the long side 11” down to 5 ½”

Cut the long side down to 4 ¼”

Cut the long side down to 2 ¾”

Cut the long side down to 2 1/8”

Cut the long side down to 1 3/8”

3) Now that you have all the pieces you can stack them and wrap the rubber bands around them. I count them out into smaller piles of 20 and then put different colored stacks on top of each other. I fold and stack the pieces into sticks of 20 for easier counting later.

Folding the Pieces
It’s easier to just watch a video on how to fold these pieces. There are only 8-9 folds for a single piece. It’s simple.
Theorigamiwing - How to fold a basic piece.
Girnelis - An intro vid to 3D origami that shows how to cut and fold the paper as well as some basic techniques.
Amel Ptw - How to fold different size pieces.
That’s about it for this tutorial. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to message me. I’d be happy to answer any inquiries.

Goldfish I know it's not colored like one, but I'd already made a normal looking goldfish and wanted to jazz it up with some of my favorite color combos.

The owl is super cute! Those googly eyes. 😆

The new models I added to the shop last week! My aliens have been really popular! I’ve been wanting to make a green one also but life is so busy right now. Someone requested an owl and I was never very fond of my tiny ones so I made a new design from scratch and I love it so much!! I initially used a lot of colors just to make an experimental shape but it looked cool so I cleaned it up and made a complete one for the shop.

Richard "Dutch" Roosevelt - Far Cry 5 "But mostly it means we're all fucked!" Our friendly neighborhood Grandpa! We don't see him too often in-game besides his occasional comment on our progress, but he did save our asses in the beginning so he deserved some attention. I had a difficult time trying to figure out what colors his shirt and pants were, since he stays in that poorly lit bunker all the time. I also gave him some poorly made glasses. My wire bending skills are terrible, but the old man needed them. # of Pieces: ~220
