“Dancing bones aren’t sinister and are one of the few forms of echoed life tolerated by Grandfather Funeral. They are the leftovers of wholesome souls whose lives were unjustly full of affliction and tortures, their shells taken to merriment now that their sufferings (and aggressors) have ceased to be. They’re graves are left untouched by overgrowth or damp, and they rise from their beds every fifth night (or when a Troubadour happens to wander past) to dance and cavort amongst the memorials.” -Hulpi’s Helpful Tome This illustration is actually a pretty big milestone for me, and cause to celebrate. For quite some time I’ve been working on a project in my spare time, and this is the last illustration I had to complete for the first stretch. I’ll share more details and make a right and proper announcement once the second draft of the writing is complete.
