what were some UDA dances you think went underrated this year?

SDSU Jazz was so freaking good. Ik it’s not underrated on social media but def got robbed in my opinion

Stockton U jazz oh my huge fan I thought it was really cool

UCF Jazz also didn’t get a lot of recognition score wise but Paris the woman you areeee

Idk if it’s underrated, but massive fan of Cincinnati hip hop

Temple hip hop as well

Minnesota deluth jazz was fireee

UC boulder jazz are we serious??? So beautiful

Utah valley jazz was so cool as well

Delaware Jazz and hip hop need to be talked about more

Specifically the girl holding a headstand in Tennessee jazz when they all pause I’m never getting over that

Also even though Minnesota jazz is getting so much attention and did so well I feel like it can only be underrated. I could watch that dance a million times and I feel like I could never even understand how beautiful it is yk?? It’s just so amazing…

My theory with no evidence to back it up but i can feel it in my gut is that KVR gave Molly an ultimatum. “Get rid of Ellie or else… [insert ultimatum]”. this is the only reason I could realistically think Molly would kick Ellie permanently and not just suspend her

Is everyone on tt confused like what??? “How did this not beat Ohio???”. It was beautifulllll and my favorite dance of the entire weekend. But at the end of the day, Ohio brought it to finals and Minnesota choked. They didn’t hit. Mistakes happen and so do point deductions… It was still insanely beautiful, but the mistakes affected the score I don’t know what else to say. It doesn’t take away from any of their talent or the work they put in. I’m devastated for them. But I would have been shocked if they won with how finals went.

ellie left p21!

Ellie is truly such a special dancer. She has very good movement quality and always looks like she loves what she’s doing… with so much going on right now with molly and how public the studio and all their lives are I hope people really check themselves before they post. At the end of the day, Ellie will be amazing at whatever she chooses to pursue and p21 will be totally fine. I find it interesting that molly still follows her as that wasn’t how it went in the past. I don’t want to speculate too much but I do find it funny the good graces combo is pinned rn. LYRICS. Omg she’s so funny for that and it reminds me of something I’d do when I studio hopped (lit considered captioning my insta “they said the end is coming. Everyone’s up to something” and making sweet nothing the song). Anyway, she’s hilarious for that and I really wish the best for her bc it’s obvious how much she loves dance.

Not 100% sure, but I hope she gives a lot of people a shot. Beyond dance alone, age averages could complicate the choices as well as heights for opposites so who knows. Can’t believe this whole situation!

D1A Jazz: Minnesota ofc, Tennessee, UCF, bama, U Michigan, Oregon, and omg SDSU(need Justice)

D1A Pom: Ohiooo(Pom nunchucks are we kidding), Texas tech, Cincinnati, Minnesota(turns in the silence omg), UNLV

D1A Hip hop: LSU w the prop, loved Cincinnati, UNLV ofc

D1 Jazz: Utah Valley was my fav, stony brook, Grand Canyon, Hofstra(but not the costumes)

D1 Pom: tbh i don’t remember any of them vivid enough and obvi cant watch them all on tik tok now

D1 hip hop: same thing ik I loved so many of them but unfortunately they all blend together

Open Jazz: loved St. Cloud turns with the skirt, the piano one lowkey forgot what school it was from

Open Pom: all the Minnesotas, saint benedict

Open hip hop: don’t remember once again

And all the game days blend together and feel similar so I don’t remember a single one even though I watched alllll of them lmao

But overall there’s so many amazing routines and I feel so blessed to be able to watch all of them. The song choices have made me very happy. And the choreo??? The musicality is really hitting. The performance from the dancers is incredible. And so many tricks that are prob gonna get put in my dances… inspired is an understatement

I love dance so much. I can’t even explain how inspiring and moving it is to watch so many dancers do what they love. So so much talent and artistry was shown today. This is the first time I’ve watched EVERYTHING at UDA. Almost all the dances from all the divisions… simply in awe. Send me some anons plssss, I have so many thoughts.
