in honor of Mari dying, may we get a style analysis for all three season?

SEASON 3 Mari Style Analysis:

For the most part her style in season 3 is consistent with that of the prior seasons. We still see a lot of floral and solid color pieces as well as her signature yellow hoodie. Due to the cabin fire, the number of clothing pieces available to her are increasingly limited so we do see a lot more repetition in her outfits.

Colors: Yellow, Blue, and White.

Repeatedly Worn Brands: Holloway, custom, and Ralph Lauren

The key thing that I find it important to mention is the new edition of the white dress from 03x01 as it’s supposed to be a call back to the dress she wears in 03x10. The two chase sequences involved parallel each other and put Mari at the center. The floral thermal pants she wears in 03x01 also tie to the 03x10 hunt as Melissa wears them in her outfit.

I find her woven poncho interesting as well because Akilah wears a similar style poncho and Gen wears a poncho with her hunt outfit. In a way I think this might help show a tie/connection between the three of them which becomes important as together they plan to take down Shauna.

The last thing that calls out to me is that Mari like most of the others in 03x08 wears an outfit reminiscent of the one she wore when the plane crashed.

love the idea of lottienat having a very meet in the middle type of relationship precrash like they do in canon. Like they generally walk with different social circles but in choice scenarios they meet and have a unique bond

like, lottie shoplifting from tj maxx as a compulsive habit that results from the stress she’s under with her family sees natalie shoplifting from the same tj maxx on a dare or something

lottie wants to be rebellious and sneaks out of the house alone to go to a concert and finds nat there also snuck out and alone but bc her cool alt friends would make so much fun of her for going to such a mainstream concert

both of them showing up to practice early or staying late as refuge from their families and never talking about it but just kind of silently acknowledging the bond

they go to the same godawful parties and end up outside together because they both got overwhelmed for different reasons and nat always shares her cigarettes

I won't stop saying it: in fanfic-writing, you make your own rules. Write whatever the fuck you want to write

Sometimes it's that you haven't written that fanfic of that genre yet because you don't have confidence in your writing talents, or you have some learning and improving to do in your writing, or you're afraid of the audience reception.

Sometimes it's also just that the said genre is not for you. Write what you're confident in and what makes you happy. It's okay to leave the rest alone.

Unless you're receiving payment to diversify and to be more creative and to "impress", you have every right to stick to your comfort zone.

Write the same fanfic five times with five different endings. Write one genre of fanfics. Write all genres ever known to man. Write for 75 fandoms. Write for one fandom. Update once a year. Update every hour. Write only 200-chaptered stories. Write only drabbles. Write the tamest stuff. Write the kinkiest stuff(tags exist for a reason). Write different love stories for one character you love. Use the same lines or words.

Do anything and everything as long as you're happy and having fun. If there are too many negative emotions(fear, self-doubt, mental stress, worry, anxiety, overthinking, etc.) attached to your writing, then you're probably taking it too seriously.

Nobody has the right to shake your fanfic-writing peace and make you doubt how great of a writer you are, not even YOURSELF or YOUR READERS. This shit is free and meant to be for fun and relaxation.
