after fighting tooth and nail for her freedom she had to revert back to servitude for the promise of acceptance and autonomy which she didn't even get after all I'm kinda shaking in anger about it but whatever
yes claudia is a fucking otherworldly powerful vampiress, ruthless killing machine etc etc but also...her story is just the story of every young woman ever??? she's been through experiences worth many lifetimes over, yet she is forever 'the little girl'. she never got a say in the life she has been thrust into. she has to bear the burden of the complex emotions of the only guardian figure in her life. the men around her seemingly can't do anything but use her, abuse her and disappoint her. she is full of potential and brilliance but never gets a chance to explore all of it to its full extent. her joy and optimism is constantly crushed. her voice is constantly smothered. she is never taken seriously. she is terribly, terribly lonely. she is forever curious. she is never afraid to ask questions. her trauma is read and dissected and commented upon. she doesn't get a say in how it's represented anymore. her greatest transgression is that she dares to take up too much space and fight for herself. my heart breaks for her. claudia de pointe du lace deserves the world </3
"By this point we've learned that, who tells the story is often more important than how the story is being told. How much of it is true, how much of it is used to paint Armand in a good light."
