random q: what are your characters like when they're tipsy/drunk?

shoko ... tends to be more affectionate or touchy. not inappropriately unless you're her partner or someone she's had relations with that would be receptive to that. she's a lot more honest, a looser tongue. she says things she might otherwise not say or be more guarded about, but she'd have to be more than tipsy for that. she eventually gets sleepy, and that enhances the affection because she'd want to snuggle up / hold onto you. she laughs more, not loudly, but seems to be more open. walls are down.

kento ... he's bolder, would engage in riskier behavior and more impulsive. his expression is less guarded and easier to sway into showing his true emotions. he swears a lot more, not to an obnoxious degree and not that he doesn't swear already. but, it more easily comes out. (i think he swears mostly out of frustration or upset, so it stands out when he's tipsy.) he puts his glasses away, wouldn't wear them, they make everything hazier and throw him off balance with the world tinted.

whatever kinship they believed to have experienced in her company has all dissipated in a single moment. that single moment being the continuous downfall of one geto suguru and the ascent of the inevitable god,gojo satoru. that moment stretches on and on until the tension snaps. she barely had to try. in fact, she didn't try at all. she sat back and watched them derail themselves into what they are now. @ho11owpurple may sit on high, but who sits next to him? no one. geto may see the light in a different sense, but who joins him into it? no one. they are alone. ( so is she. but, she has always been from her world's beginning ).

"can't i?" shoko's trademark smirk is sharper, sardonic and not at all amused by the groveling. "you've already let your best friend slip through your fingers. what is a traitor to you? you should want to kill me most of all, satoru. i thought you'd have more backbone than that."

a brow crests over the circular frame of his glasses. it's certainly nice to see her, but the grin on her face doesn't bode well. he should be used to it by now, but he bristles in anticipation regardless. the offered book, however, is gratefully received. pulling it out from its bag, he looks over the cover. "it does appear promising." slipping it back into the bag, kento tucks it under his arm. "have you eaten? i was just on my way if you'd like to join me."

"i'm back in town and i'm making it your problem." frost says with a smile pulling at her lips as she looks at nanami - her smile screaming trouble, though when doesn't it. though, she has a paper bag in her hand - a book as a 'peace' offering. it's one she's read already and thought that he might enjoy. "but, i do offer this up, should it interest you. got it from my latest out of japan trip."

BRILLIANT BOUQUETS BURST INTO THE NIGHT SKY. Ripples of resplendent color blossomed in the Sumida river. An earthy, smoky aroma accompanied the tantalizing scent of street food. Carts lined the river, much like spectators. The night air was warm, manageable only on account of an intermittent breeze. The very same swell that abated the itch in her nose from the various trails of tobacco smoke and dissipating pyrotechnic plumes.

A pair of enormous umber eyes fluttered over her companion for the festival: her superior, Ieiri Shoko. In stark contrast to the lacrimal sheen coated her stare, Neela was absolutely enjoying herself. "You picked out such a pretty yukata, Ieiri-san! You look so beautiful." A paper boat of takoyaki was extended to her. "Can we get some more snacks after we finish these? I can go, if you want! That way we won't lose our spot~"

[ CHIRON ] what does your muse do to cope ? are their coping mechanisms healthy, or do they lean into bad habits to get through tough times ?

shoko ... it's interesting because when shoko is coping, it doesn't look like she's doing much different. she already has bad habits, like smoking, not eating very healthily, working herself to the bone. she's literally sleep, eat, smoke, work. so, when she's going through it or at her breaking point, she keeps her head down and keeps working. sticks to those routines to an even more destructive degree. she stays longer at work, sleeps in her office. so, the thing is; she's not coping. or, believes that distracting herself just enough, keeping her mind busy will help her cope. but, at some point of course, your mind will be idle. if she works hard enough, she can hopefully get exhausted enough to sleep, but what if that still doesn't work?

so, i'd say one of the only other things she might do that would stick out, but she doesn't tell anyone about is that she goes somewhere near the water. it could be a river, stream, or the sea. anywhere by water and she'll sit there and ruminate. it's comforting to be near the water. i headcanon that her family would take trips to the beach when she was a kid. that might be something that she still holds onto today and why it comforts her.

i also thinks she uses sex as a coping mechanism. i won't get into heavy detail. i don't think that it's her go-to, but she has used it in the past and will likely do it again. because of this though, she has an interesting and somewhat complicated relationship with sex. it's enjoyable and can absolutely be an expression of love. but, she's linked it as well to how she copes when she just wants her mind to be blank in a way that isn't the same way alcohol can affect her, that it ... becomes all wrapped up in that.

kento ... he's a little ashamed of the fact he does use alcohol to numb what he feels. he discovered at some point that it's pretty effective on the numbing factor, something that can take the edge off. what's more is he has a pretty high tolerance. but, there's shame in the fact that he does drink to cope because it feels childish or wrong. there's guilt in there. he needs to sort it out, he can't rely on something so destructive. but, at the same time, does he care that he's destroying himself? it's a war in his mind and he's tired of fighting.

i would say that in terms of anything healthy, he already goes to the grocery store for normal errands. but, the amount of time he spends in there speaks to his state of mind. he goes to the extra big grocery stores so he can spend more time dissociating, lmao. but it is calming to him. he engages in cooking dished that require more skill and a longer process, it clears his mind. gives him a healthy challenge. he has his music blasting for sure. but, in his earbuds because he's considerate of his neighbors.

yuta ... he has felt powerless for most of his life. so, he trains a lot as is to be strong regardless of rika. but, in moments of downheartedness or he feels he's failed, he trains even harder. he also does a lot of meditation, managing the anxiety and panic he usually feels that gets even worse in these moments. he does make an effort to deal with things healthily; being more mindful of what he eats, exercise regimen, etc.

sweat beads at her temples, the damp growing at the back of her neck and back too. it's about time to call it a day, or at the very least, take a break. but, she needed to land this perfectly, to execute just the right moves at just the pace she set as a goal for herself. the interruption, however, comes and she swivels on her heel. "do or die, right?" maki slips off her glasses briefly, cleaning away the moisture that had accumulated at the bottom of the lenses. "i'd prefer not to die just yet."

a playful smile spread across her lips as she watched the younger, frost knew the need to prove yourself to better yourself to prove those in your life wrong. it's something she won't admit aloud. "nice work there." frost comments as she walks towards maki on one of her visits back to the school. "you're really the quick learner. that's a good thing in this line of work."

she knows momo is right, and getting worked up is only going to make them sloppy. make her sloppy. "let's go over the information again. we know that the curse has been hopping between two different places which suggests ... what? teleportation?" maybe that's what made it so difficult to pin down. "we're missing something here."

there was a light sigh that falls from momo's lips, she understands mai's fustrations and only ever wants what is best for mai. always willing to help her out where it was needed. "of course we'll find it before they do." she says trying her best to reassure mai. it wasn't great when things got out of their hands, but all they can really do is be better, work harder then they already do. "we won't have too. we're the better branch. we now know what to expect from the curse now. giving us the advantedge."
