This is the final version i’ve ended up with. There’s a lot that I like and don’t like about it. I do like how i’ve managed to keep to my initial project direction with the grid layout scheme that focuses on typography mainly. I don’t like how i’ve handled the grid on the second page, it got a bit too filled up at the end, I like it however others might think it looks too busy
When thinking of other ways to handle it I thought of taking away guidelines on my brochure part to my grid, but then my headings and images would look messy and unproportioned.
I also do not like how i’ve had to compromise and sort of collapse the 4 panel grid system with the tables and the map. I found that with all the information that was supplied and needed to be shown in the tables, it was hard to keep it to a single panel but there were not enough panels to give them the space of two, therefore i’ve had to go with 1.5 each. This isn’t awful because due to the nature of how my folded publication opens, these 4 panels with the tables and map on them open at the same time so it doesn’t matter that the folds would occur over bits of information.
In the timeframe given, I think i’ve done a good job but for next time I would definitely put more time into organising the grid and space so that it looks less amateurish in my opinion. and add more vector art to connect with the type

this is my map I created for my poster, I wanted to make sure I added and highlighted the key locations for typografika. I used illustrator to create my assets for my map

“Shuriken Boy” will be my heading font, and used for my assets. I like the funky shape and style of it. its very blocky and fun but at the same time simple and bold

with the type I will use, I want to add Helvetica to my poster and brochure because of how widely used it is. I also want to make my type not so busy and clutter so much on my poster and brochure.

I found this poster on Instagram on a young designers page “Joshua Brione”. What attracted me to this poster was how the type was laid out. I thought the layout of type being a border for the image was impressive. I will probably explore these skills in my poster

I like the designs on this poster and aslo how much space there is. the space makes you focus more on the assets that are involved in the poster

The use of colour and grid in this poster is really smart. It manages to create a feeling of depth to the poster which otherwise wouldn’t be there, and uses up the space really well.

I found this poster while scrolling on bechance. what attracted me to this was how every space was filled. However it was filled with just type and a glitch style effect. I hope to portray this in my brochure and poster by filling space

what I like about this poster is the grid style layout and also the type here and how it creates the sense of taking up a lot of space while not actually using lots of design and illustrations.

Direction for this Project
looking at the brief that we have been introduced too and the copy-writing supplied, the first thing that comes to me when designing a typographic poster is a bold minimal colour poster with simple assets and designs with strong type. This will be the direction i’m going to take with this project and with my future designs for it.
