Testing
I experimented with using the principle of dimensionality, by creating a map which folds out, giving a 3D effect. I found this to be really effective as it helps give depth to the animation and projects a more realistic experience for the viewer.

I Will Not Let An Exam Result Decide My Fate || Kinetic Typography
I really liked the method this animation used, of forming new words out of letters from an existing word. This is something I would like to experiment with in my animation as it gives a sense of flow.

Example
I found this animation by apple to be really effective and inspirational. In particular I was inspired by the first frame, where the lines join together to form shapes, as I like the sense of flow and movement it gives.
I was also inspired by the frame near the end, where the line rotates forming a circle, this is something I would like to experiment with.

Testing
I tested two ways of expressing the words ‘in the long run the best results.’ For the first version, I experimented with using positioning as a way to transition to next frame by drawing the viewers eye up to the corner of the screen, where the new text will appear. I found this method didn’t work for the amount of time I had, as it appeared to frantic, giving a sense of unease for the viewer.

Testing
This was the chosen option. This is because it has greater ease of readability over the first option. The use of graphics, also helps provides interest and aids the text.

Testing
I tested two different variations for the title. From receiving feedback, the second option of the text easing out of the mouth was the preferred option, as it gives a more feminine feel, which I believe works best with the overall aesthetic and theme of the animation. I also found by using masking, it allowed me to give the illusion of the words being spoken, which I found to be really effective.

Testing
To reflect the words ‘not from a command top down approach,’ I tested two different versions. By receiving feedback, the first option was the preferred option. My peers, found the effect of the text rolling over, to express the words ‘top down,’ to be really effective as they believe it creates visual interest and links effectively to the text. They also liked the text being in line with one another as it helps draw emphasis and projects a sense of structure which ties in with the words being spoken.

Testing
I tried two different approaches for the words ‘they do work in teams.’ The first approach, I tried a more illustrative version. I used the principle of easing in, for the illustration to appear on the screen as well as masking to reveal the graph. The second version, I experimented with using the text to reflect the word teams, by shuffling the text and making it come together.
By getting feedback, the first version of the illustrative approach was the preferred option, as my peers found it to be more visually interesting.

Colour development
During the critique session, I received helpful feedback on my colour palette. It was suggested that I look at using more bold, punchy colours.
After having another play with the adobe colour wheel, I decided on the colours of watermelon pink and white. I chose these colours as I believe it still reflects a feminine vibe, which ties in with my theme of speech whilst providing a greater energy and intensity. I decided on using white to work alongside the pink as it provides contrast, allowing the text to stand out.

Testing
I experimented with animating the words ‘a shared future.’
In order to draw emphasis on the word ‘shared,’I experimented with using a more graphic approach of connecting lines together.
The first version of merging words together was the preferred option, as I felt it flowed together more seamless.

Testing
I wanted to draw emphasis on the word shared. In order to do this I experimented with merging words together. I found this to be an effective outcome.
I also used colour to draw focus towards certain words. By using the colour red, I found it created dominance and enabled me to direct the audience towards certain words of more power.
I decided to use the write on text method for the word ‘create.’ I chose this method as I liked the organic feel, this method gives and found it to be an effective way of giving the feeling of the word being ‘created.’

Testing
I tested animating the words ‘women make up half the world,’ two ways.
For this version, I experimented with using masking to reveal the text from the centre. I found this option to be the most effective outcome as it’s less distracting and more visually appealing. I also found it to be an effective method of communicating the text.

Testing
For this version, I experimented with using imagery to express the text. I found this version to not be as effective, as the feedback I received expressed that they found the imagery to be distracting.

Font testing
I explored the use of different fonts for my animation and gathered feedback to see which ones are the most effective and suitable, in order to reach the message and theme of the animation.
Overall I found the use of a sans serif font, to be particularly effective as it reflects a more modern and direct tone, which ties in well with my speech. In order to compliment the sans serif font, I decided to look at using a script font as an accent as it creates a contrast of a more casual and personal tone. I also like how the script fonts projects a more feminine quality, which works well with the overall aesthetic of my animation.
