Page of Cups:
“The Page of Cups, if it refers to you in your spread, suggests an introspective nature, inclined towards art, and possessing a kind heart. You may let credit you deserve pass you by out of shyness. The card may also be indicative of someone, likely overlooked, in your own life who is in a position to aid you in pursuit of a specific goal. Although somewhat dependent on its position in your spread, the Page is generally the bearer of good news.”
The Page of Cups is news of a surprising or UNEXPECTED nature. Often this news could concern your own PERSPECTIVES or way of looking at your EMOTIONS, possibly a feeling you have been nursing for SOME TIME. There is a FISH IN YOUR CUP HOW LONG HAS THAT BEEN THERE. This is usually positive.
Today’s extra is from the Hanson-Roberts deck, a deck I have my self. It is similar to the Raider-Waite in many ways, but cards bearing direct characters are often presented in a fashion that allows them a GREATER DEGREE of facial expression. It doesn’t necessarily take BRAND SPANKING NEW ideas to reform and create your own deck.

Page of Wands:
“A vital indicator, the Page suggests good news coming to you from or about a youthful individual. If the card is describing you, personally, it indicates you possess boundless energy, deep loyalty, and youthful love of learning. It may also point towards a new project you will soon be undertaking.”
The Page of Wands indicates news on some sort of intellectual or creative endeavor. Perhaps it is a strong idea for a new project, or an exciting development in one that is already underway. The Page himself is, much like the knight, sort of self important. He is very dapperly dressed and judging by how he regards the wand, is pleased with how things are going.
Today’s card is from the Tarot in Space Deck. I liked this one because the colors are really wild.

11 - Justice:
“Justice is a very good card to find in your spread if you have acted with kindness and fairness towards other and, especially, if you have been a victim. It is a significant indicator of a positive resolution, although how and what sort will depend on your own experiences. If you have been unfair, abusive, or otherwise shady and immoral in your dealings, though, pay heed. For the unjust, this card is, at best, a dire warning to change your ways before retribution falls upon you, and, at worst, a simple statement that it is already too late. In neutral cases, it may simply be telling you to seek out balance in your life.”
I am fairly satisfied with the Trusted Tarot Definition of this card. The symbology is PRETTY STRAIGHTFORWARD, a scale to determine guilt in one hand, and a sword to deliver a verdict in the other.
Today’s extra is from the Madam Xanadu Justice League Tarot set. This DOESN’T ACTUALLY, have a full spread of cards, or even a 1 to 1 setup with the major arcana. There are a number of decks like this with their own sets of ideas, though usually they are quite small, possibly too small to do an actual reading with. Nonetheless they still offer an interesting look into alternative symbology. Past that, my only justification for picking this card is this:
Do you know what Batman orders when the Justice League takes him out drinking?
“JUST ICE”

Queen of Pentacles:
“The Queen is a card steeped in the tradition of family, and reflects a person, usually a woman, who is financially adroit, and possess a very pragmatic, practical, nature. This person will come to your aid in some financial matter, most likely advice on how to better manage your money.”
The Kings and Queens represent MASTERY of a given suit. The Queen of Pentacles then, has great understanding of what it takes to maintain personal safety, and make THOUGHTFUL DECISIONS. She is often depicted with a bunny, emphasizing an aspect of FERTILITY that she shares with the EMPRESS. As with all the cards that depict this sort of character, she can represent an aspect of oneself, or an external person.
Today’s extra is from the Halloween Tarot deck. I really wasn’t thrilled with a lot of the different iterations of this, I’m not sure I’ve ever been thrilled with the Raider-Waite. I like the certain SLY SHREWD aspect that this Queen has, and I also liked that in the scheme of changing the suits for a Halloween theme, That they made the Pentacles into pumpkins, with emphasizes the suits earthiness.

4 of Swords:
“Representing order and stability, combined with the tumultuous nature of the Swords, the IV of Swords offers your respite from the battles in your life. The peace may be temporary, but appreciate it while it lasts. It may point towards recovery from prolonged illness.”
All of the 4s deal with rests. This one is rest from SOME FORM OF CONFLICT. This rest allows one to recooperate, may indeed prove essential to a POSITIVE RESOLUTION.
Today’s extra is from the Buckland Romani Tarot. I mainly chose this one because the figure ISN’T DEAD, and that was always really confusing to me about the Raider-Waite.

5 of Cups:
“This card is a dark omen. Like the rest of its suit, it is bound your emotions, and it brings with it a warning of loss and disappointment. Expect a setback in your life, almost certainly emotional. While this may be emotional, it may be a project or goal you are particularly invested in, emotionally. In certain positions it might also refer to events of the past which continue to cause regret or heartache. The only solution is optimism; this too shall pass.”
I call this card the SPILT MILK CARD. The figure in the card has tipped over 3 of their drinks and is REALLY BUMMED ABOUT IT. However, they still have a whole 2 drinks behind them which they are ENTIRELY IGNORING. The point of all this is that sometimes BAD THINGS HAPPEN but you really ought not to DWELL ON IT TOO MUCH, or allow it to CONSUME YOU.
I realize I’m a day behind here. As such I’ll be posting something on Sunday. Also, tomorrow marks the HALF WAY POINT of the blog and as such I will be returning the face cards and the 10s to the deck. Yes, that’s right I had REMOVED certain cards with the idea that they would be better tackled after gaining some practical understanding of each suit. I feel that the half way point is good enough, so look forward to some kings and queens and 10s in the second half of this project.

10 - Wheel of Fortune:
“Symbolic of life's cycles, the Wheel of Fortune speaks to good beginnings. Most likely, you will find the events foretold to be positive, but, being aspects of luck, they may also be beyond your control and influence. Tend those things you can control with care, and learn not to agonize over the ones you cannot.”
The Wheel of Fortune is about how STUFF JUST KIND OF HAPPENS. Most of the universe isn’t actually in your control, and you can fight it, or you can DEAL WITH IT. It’s also about life’s cycles and the things we have to do to KEEP GOING.
Today’s extra is from the Cat’s Eye Tarot deck. I liked this firstly because it stood out against all the ARCANE IMAGERY that is standard to the Wheel of Fortune. Secondly, the cats depicted are very much just GOING ABOUT THE DAY TO DAY, and the mice are GOING TO DIE, and that’s just kind of life and that’s what this card is about. Sorry for poor image quality.

4 of Cups:
“Apathy is the most insidious of evil. If its influence remains unchecked you may lose yourself, and not even realize what you have lost. This card is a strong warning that you must break out of your current cycles. Seek out causes or people to care and fight for. Make new goals, and then seek out new paths to reach them. Now is the time to take risks, as the price of failure is far less than the cost of no longer seeking success.”
The 4 of Cups is about apathy. The figure in the card is SURROUNDED BY EXCESS but he does not care. The 4s usually signify rest of one form or another and in this case it is a VERY STUCK sort of rest. This card implies that perhaps it is time to STOP RESTING and pondering a vague notion of dissatisfaction and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. The case could also change depending on context.
I had some trouble sourcing today’s image because google was ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that it was a book cover. I picked it because I felt that continuing to order coffee that you’re NOT DRINKING was a really brilliant metaphor for the 4 of Cups.

7 of Wands:
“You almost certainly have great reserves of courage, and the perseverance to see yourself through difficult times. You may not be aware you possess these qualities, but you will find yourself needing them soon. Expect conflicts, possibly small, but more likely significant. It is not certain where they will arise, but there is no doubt you possess the ability to overcome your adversaries.”
The 7 of Wands signifies an LARGE STRUGGLE against HARSH ODDS. It is however a struggle in which you have AT LEASE ONE advantage. This is signifies by the figure fighting against SIX FOES. While there are MORE OF THEM than there are of him, he has THE HIGH GROUND, and this will serve him well.
Today has been very busy so I have not had time to get the extra card, but I should be back tomorrow.

8 of Cups:
“The VIII suggests that there is stability and security in your life, but at a personal cost. You are probably unfulfilled by your current life. Depending on the rest of your spread, it may be a strong push for you to move on, and find the courage to strike out in a new direction. You will have to look closely at your work, your relationship, and your own beliefs to identify the source of your ennui, and then decide if you are willing to set aside some of your life's stability in order to find happiness.”
I’ve personally had some difficulty differentiating this card from the 6 of Swords, which popped up PRETTY RECENTLY. Both are about leaving something behind but I think the MAIN DIFFERENCE is the degree of duress. The 6 of Swords indicates some TERRIBLY WRETCHED THING happening in the recent past, where as this one suggests that moving due to simple DISSATISFACTION. I think to a certain extent this card comes off as A TOUCH IRRESPONSIBLE, but sometimes you to have to start over to get what you want.
Today’s extra is from The Classic Tarot deck. I mainly picked this one because I wanted to show an example of a card where it’s JUST THE SUIT OBJECT AND NOTHING ELSE. Personally I don’t much care for them since there’s no additional cues to read to remember which card is which, but there is certainly an ELEGANCE TO THEM with a reminder of their common ancestry with PLAYING CARDS.

2 of Pentacles
“The II is, as always, bound up in the forces of change, and of balance. Like its brothers, the II of Pentacles can mean good or ill, but it as a strong indicator that the status quo will be disrupted. There will be challenges in your future, but your fate is largely in your own hands in the sense that the final outcome depends own how you respond to these challenges. The suit of this card suggests your best outcome is one that can be reached through prudence and careful planning.”
The 2 of Pentacles is about balancing WHAT YA GOT to get more! Following your aspirations takes work and consideration, much of the time you will have DECISIONS TO MAKE. The 2 of Pentacles is about the balance of these decisions. This is shown by the fellow juggling his money about, enterprising ships behind him on a rocky sea.
Today’s extra is from the Phantasmagoric Theater Tarot. I like the idea of applying the trade of stagecraft to this card, particularly in the element of selecting and juggling masks.

9 - The Hermit
“There are times in every life, when one must step back and make a careful examination of their situations and decisions. Finding the Hermit in your spread suggests this is just such a time for you. You are in need of a period of inner reflection, away from the current demands of your position. This retreat can be physical, or a search within. Only a deep and honest introspection will lead to a solution, however.”
The Hermit means it’s time to CHILL and STEP THE FUCK BACK and do some serious INTROSPECTION and self evaluation. This is something which must be done ALONE and may require that you put WHATEVER ELSE it is you’re doing on hold and just THINK ABOUT IT for a while.
Today’s extra is from The Hero Tarot Deck by Psychic Safina. I honestly picked this one because it’s just REAL GODDAMN WEIRD LOOKING and it stood out among all the HUNCHED OLD DUDES WITH LAMPS. It also features a VERY BRIEF definition of the card. Personally I ind this kind of thing REDUCTIVE and a bit limiting, but it can be VERY USEFUL for beginners who aren’t quite FULLY ACQUAINTED with all the cards yet.

8 - Strength
“Strength is the rawest form of power, and you possess it in some form. It is a very happy card if you are fighting illness or recovering from injury. As might be suspected, its influence over you, and the use you put it to, can trend towards light or dark. You likely trend towards facing your problems courageously, head-on, and conquering them through perseverance and will. With this ability to overcome life's obstacles, though, comes the responsibility to control yourself, and it this card may be a warning to take command of your own actions or emotions before they damage you or the people you care about.”
Strength is not so much about LITERAL STRENGTH so much as is about RAW POWER OF WILL. The woman on the card using this will to gently CONQUER A GODDAMN LION, and you know the lion is PRETTY OKAY WITH THAT I WOULD SAY. If you apply yourself in the right direction, there is little that YOU CANNOT ACCOMPLISH.
Today’s extra is from the Wild Unknown Tarot. I liked this card because I feel it highlights the cards gentle nature.

2 of Swords:
“ Like crossed blades, the II of Swords represents a balance of forces. Not necessarily an absence of struggle, but an equal distribution of force in opposition. It may indicate you are in a position to mediate a conflict, or it may instead suggest you are caught in the middle of a dilemma with no clear outcome. The resolution of this state will likely bring peace for you.”
The 2s are about BALANCE, generally speaking. The 2 of Swords is a TENUOUS AND DIFFICULT balance, shifting one way too far could end in DISASTER, but knowing which way is which can seem impossible at times. The figure in the card is blindfolded, the 2 swords balanced perilously close to her neck.
Today’s extra is from Cristy C. Road’s Next world tarot project. I picked this one mainly because the art has this really gnarly bold look to it that I sort of aspire to in my own art.
