honestly though… finnick surviving the sewers, he’s horrifically injured and scarred and people are dismayed for him bc he was such a handsome young man and blah blah blah… but to annie, he’s just finnick. he’s her man, he’s her husband. irvin will know him as his father and nothing or no one else and that’s just beautiful to her.

does annie have any hobbies/activies she likes to do in her spare time?

she has many! annie is a dancer, she had trained as such alongside her regular career training (it was encouraged to find a talent to focus on, in case you were picked for your games and won… because choosing one in the aftermath of winning doesn’t always go well) and it’s something she still finds enjoyment and emotional release in. she can frequently be seen doing stretches by the bay window at the front of her house, and has been spotted dancing in the sand and waves. she’ll also do just about anything to keep her hands (and thus her mind) busy, so she’s picked up jewelry making, knitting, even the particularly district 4 art of shell carving. it’s not to say she’s very good at any of it, but she enjoys the intense focus required - it helps her feel like the girl she was before. and she certainly has the money to spend on it.

the cresta family : thaden ( father - owner of one of the largest canneries in district 4, which had been started by his great-grandfather of the same name. trained for the games and aged out. ) , laguna ( mother - a former fisherwoman, tragically drowned in an “accident” following annie’s disaster of a victory tour. didn’t train for the games. ) , guinemere ( older sister, affectionately called guin or guinny. trained for the games and aged out. ) , brine ( younger brother, trained for the games but dropped out after annie’s win. ). the family fell apart in the aftermath of 70th games and its rippling effect fallout, though guinemere and her young family did work to reconnect with annie following the war. brine was killed in the revolution and thaden kept himself distanced.

What was Annie's relationship like with her district partner? Did they know each other at all prior to their Games?

annie and her district partner, trite brinden, trained together in the career academy from a young age. they were paired off as partners, with the agreement that when the time if they were chosen to “volunteer” for the games they would do so together. they balanced each other well, with annie’s cool, watchful temperament reigning in trite’s more impulsive tendencies. even with the knowledge that they’d likely have to see the other die, and or kill them themselves, teenagers tend to be hormonal and foolish and they were each other’s first relationship at fourteen - though it didn’t last past a couple of reckless, secretive months. but their friendship lingered, though they worked to keep it professional and tempered as they got closer to eighteen. then the 70th games come around…. and the rest is history.

thinking about how a lot of annie’s symptoms of “madness” ( hallucinations, not knowing what’s real, dropping out in the middle of conversations, abnormal body movements) kind of line up with those of schizophrenia, which can be caused by a combination of genetic factors and being exposed to stressful and dangerous surroundings.

the way people comment saying that the tributes have it so much better in the future compared to the early hunger games when it’s like….. they’re literally just fattening them up and making them look good for a better show.

idk there’s a difference between the water inspired gown annie got put in for her tribute interview ( ethereal, eye catching, graceful ) and the ones she gets put in during the after ( haunting, overwhelming, a distraction )
