28feb19_Woods
The sun shines down, heats the ground
I go to a site and just wander around
I’m not at all interested in the issues here
It’s so peaceful I very nearly shed a tear
I may stay on site once I finished the meeting
I regret that the feeling I have is just so fleeting
I wander some more but don’t want to lurk
So I have to leave and drive back to work
I’m sad to leave the lovely forest site behind
But it’s left me in a better frame of mind

It’s a normal day here in the lodge
Loads of work no chance to dodge
Nothing much happening though
I just have to go with the flow
The clock on wall ticks away time
I pass it by making words rhyme
**Eventually at last home time arrives **
I’m off home top speed in my five

Canaries playing at home this afternoon James goes on his own so that’s a boon It means we can have a day with the kids We’re off to a farm to see sheep and some pigs Stow Bardolph is where we went years ago It’s bigger now so the kids we just want to show We left early and got there just in time To see brand new triplets all doing fine Mum’s tending to them with plenty of loving But with only two teats there’s a lot of shoving One will be have to be taken away for feeds The special care unit is for all of the breeds Later in the day the kids on hay bales stand Ready to feed the little orphan lambs by hand The man said they had to hold the bottle tight As the lambs guzzle the milk with all their might We had a picnic in the garden under the sun Then the kids climbed, slid and had loads of fun There were cute piglets in a pen with their Mum If you scratched their belly with joy they’d hum A funny little chicken was madly running around From the hut where she came a new egg we found There was a goat that wouldn’t leave Steve alone So probably a good idea to leave and go home

21feb19_Neighbours
Thursday Thursday O Thursday What a really shit day you were It may be harsh to start that way But from my tale it will not deter
You started nice and sunny enough To have the hood down on the way But an email from a man in a huff Started the ruination of the day I went out to see what caused the fuss And met a man operating a truck He stopped his work got out to discuss By the huge other issues I was soon struck His neighbour and he were deep in combat Over some land, some trees and a new house Now at a point so bad they can’t even chat So personal it now involves each ones spouse They wind each other up all the time One cuts downs trees, digs and won’t acquiesce Each accusing the other of a dreadful crime The other films it all causing much distress They are both liars and far from angelic I’m so sick of dealing with their blether My anger towards them is becoming systemic What they need is heads banging together They’ll never get on now it’s gone too far The hate and bad feeling is too ingrained How it’s gone this far is quite bizarre They’re both empty shells now well drained

20Feb19_Crack Went to the Waterfront just for the Crack The Ruts are playing it from 40 years back It is a classic album I owned at school The raw punk and ska was pretty cool Never got to see them when I was young Jumped at the chance when this was sprung Up on stage the sound was fast and full They smashed the album with absolutely no bull What a brilliant set delivered by Ruts DC Without doubt something you need to see

19feb19_Owls The garden centre had something on we heard So went this morning and we saw owls and birds Lexi’s favorite was the smallest you can’t dispute A white faced owl called bumble it’s so so cute Cody couldn’t pick and he said he liked them all But he giggled when the owl off his post did fall Nick and Fern liked the kookaburra and the way it laughed I tried to make the right sound but it made me sound daft I really liked the big red tail hawk on the end of the line calm but powerful and could easily escape if so inclined We also had coffee and cake in the cafe of course Even the kids love a treat so no need to force They ran it all off up and down the ladder to the slide Lexi was nervous to start with but soon took it in her stride Apparently we’re all done, tired and so left for home It was lovely but I didn’t get the sleeping gnome

18feb19_Off At last a Monday off, I need to do some stuff Cut my hair, apparently I’m a bit of a scruff The Jazz needs a wash and an oil change I’ve been left alone, so not hard to arrange Nicky took Lexi, Cody and Ferny to town She had a haircut, they’ll be back by sundown Plenty of time, by two all my jobs completed So I had lunch, binged on TV comfortably seated Later I went to get Zak from being a teacher trainee Elise and him coming over for a chat and some tea We ate, we chatted and checked they are fine Before I took them back home to the city at nine

15feb19_Range We went to the Range on my day off A quick trip, an hour would be enough But there’s a big queue on the way in And that’s just where the delay begins There’s been an accident up the way The police on the roundabout just won’t say After 3 hours to the cafe, our time to bide The traffic’s not moving at all outside After 5 it’s off to McDonald’s for tea Finally after 6 it appears we’re free Shit the accident was really bad Our hearts go out, it’s really too sad

12feb19_Boss Had a meeting today with the new boss To be perfectly honest it was a bit toss He stood at the front made some noise Trying hard to appear as one of the boys We had some stupid cards red and green Expecting us to engage wants us to be keen He talked and talked about the collaboration I listened and listened with growing vexation Whatever, it’ll soon be a single council no doubt Broad Norfolk only want officers who are devout After an hour I wanted to escape the humming But the daft questions kept coming and coming All this stuff is making me sick I have to find a new job and quick
