Signs You Have PDCPD--Post Disney College Program Depression
Reblog if you have come down with any of these symptoms..

The day you returned home from your program you were excited to see family and friends & get back to “normal life.” The next day:

As you’re unpacking your immense mass of Disney merch you’ve collected over the past 5-9 months, you have a minor meltdown trying to figure out where to put it all… And hope your friends/family don’t think you’re crazy for acquiring all this during a time you told them you were “going broke."

Every time you watch a Disney movie, you tear up before the movie even starts… Because, this:
Your heart breaks a little every time you see a Disney Parks commercial. This one gets me every time.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvRPUzRGK7s

You see Disney merchandise at a non-Disney store & start calculating how much it would cost with your discount.. Then you realize your discount won’t work there.. Oh, & you don’t work for Disney anymore either..

The thought of not seeing fireworks every night puts you in a depressed state of mind. (I personally bought the "Wishes! Nighttime Spectacular” soundtrack before I left because I knew this would happen.. Just makes it worse.)
To add to #6, you listen to your favorite fireworks show’s soundtrack & can picture in your mind exactly what would be in the sky at each point in the music.. And use your hands to further illustrate what would be happening in the sky.
You listen to Disney music, but instead of singing the actual lyrics you sing lyrics that were made up by you/your co-workers while on break.. (i.e., “I wanna be… where the Code V’s are..”) Guess what my role was..

You get easily offended & defensive when somebody says something remotely negative about something Disney related.
Your brain is full of wonderful Disney trivia & tidbits that you never knew before working for Disney & taking classes during your program.. A lot of these things are relevant to any work situation or other Disney fans.. But people outside of the DCP & Disney fan base rarely want to hear about it. :(

You take a bite of an ice cream bar & feel the urge to spit it out because it’s not Mickey shaped.. Just not the same.. But you eat it anyway because of the PDCPD.
You see hidden Mickeys every where.. And get pissed off when people roll their eyes at you when you point them out.

You start working back home & are shocked at the lack of priority set for safety in the work place. Remember,

You go out for ice cream with friends & are annoyed that there’s not a self-serve option so you can see how high you can get your ice cream..

You see a bus or hear a bus that sounds almost as bad as the Transtar housing buses & have a sudden war flashback.. They seriously sound like the Jetsons’ hover craft.
You think back to your Traditions class & wish to go back to that day & feel those feels all over again!!
You start to make plans/budget money to visit DCP friends in the near future.. But then realize you were “going broke” during your program so a visit may not be as soon as you’d like it to be..
You order the free Disney vacation planning DVD because you miss getting mail from Disney.

The heat, mutant bugs, crazy people and critters in Florida don’t seem as bad as you thought when you go home to 4 more months of winter. (That one’s for the WDWCPers from the frozen north.)
When you hear about new things happening at your park you feel instantly pissed that you’re not there to see it.
At some point during the day, somebody says something that reminds you of a Disney song & you instantly sing it in your head.
You’re in an ongoing Facebook chat with former DCP co-workers where you’ve, at some point, talked in work place code (I was custodial so there’s been a lot of “what’s your 20”, “I’m 56”, “10:4” etc.), talked about how much you miss Disney, or have tried to convince friends in the group who have extended that PDCPD is way worse than the stress of actually being in the DCP. This will either make you laugh or cry.. Sometimes both.
You’ve thought about doing another program or a Professional Internship in the near future & don’t care what role you’d get because you want to go back. SO. BADLY.
You sit at home, bored, trying to think of what to do.. And the first thing you think of is hopping a bus to one of the parks. Shit, that’s not gonna happen..

You took hundreds of pics & uploaded them already, but realize you have hundreds more that haven’t been posted. However, you delay posting them because looking back at all the memories reminds you that you’re not there anymore.

You have moments where you feel like you don’t belong anywhere else..

Normal waffles… suck.
You’ve said “Have a magical day!” on accident & received weird looks from people. At Disney, you’d get a smile from people.

You’re sad when ducks don’t walk up to you on their own will.. One of these ducks pecked me in the back at Epcot’s Germany Pavilion because it wanted my food. Yeah, that happened.

At some point during your program, you discovered a “thinking spot” or some sort of place that helped clear your head or made you happy (mine was the dock at the Grand Floridian.) and you get stressed that you can’t go there anymore when you need to relax.

No more parades before work??

Disney movie marathons on ABC Family become a special event.. Because, Disney.

Any time you see a clip or hear an audio of “The Boss Man” himself, Walt Disney, you get chills, smile, and/or cry..
Finally, you’re mind is on Disney so much that you put extensive thought into a long blog post about PDCPD. The struggle is real people.. Stay strong!
