ultimately the truth about frankenstein is that we are all grotesque amalgamations of the best and worst parts of everyone who came before us. and sometimes the people who are supposed to love us because of and in spite of this will not. and we can kill them with hammers for that. and i think that’s beautiful

okay now that we’ve a had couple lesbian blockbusters and milfs are having a romance moment, we need to bring back the manic pixie dream girl. she was never fuckin suited to fixing all the problems of some boring twenty year old everyman, but you know who could actually benefit from a quirky free-spirited blue haired girl with pronouns (she/they)? a newly divorced forty-something mom who’s trying to learn how to be herself for the first time in her life

Adult realization: you will make mistakes, you will act irrationally. You will commit some wrongs that cannot be fully righted. People will dislike you and misunderstand you for all sorts of reasons. None of these make you a bad person. All you can do is try your best to be kind and just to people, grow and learn.

question: how does it feel to watch people you care about be mistreated? how would you describe that feeling?

Blocking people prevents them from interacting with your stuff. Which is good if that's what you want annoying people not to do. But sometimes I find someone's posts annoying as hell and I don't want to see them. I'm pretty sure blocking doesn't make that happen. I want people to know that the way to make that happen is to put their username in the "filtered content" section of your settings. And you don't even have to block them if they're a person who like you actually don't mind if they interact with your posts but you just don't want to have to see their shit. You CAN block them. I'm just saying these are two different mechanisms you can mix and match to curate your experience. Do with that what you will.

the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isn’t allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.

I'm actually more likely to comment if a work doesn't have many comments already. I'm sure that writers appreciate every single comment they get, but at least for me as a writer, those first few are special. Especially if its an older work that never got the recognition it deserved. Getting to gush to an author that has only gotten one or two other comments feels like a more intimate exercise, a more human interaction. The comments section with a hundred replies feels like just that. A comments section. A comments section with two replies feels more like a conversation. If that makes any sense.
Either way, I generally try to comment if I have anything particularly compelling or nice to say, but the amount of comments already on a fic might be that last extra push that makes me decide to leave a comment if I was thinking about just clicking away.
for fanfiction readers on here, are you more likely to leave feedback (reblog/comment) on a fic that has a lot of notes already compared to one that doesn’t? ex. over 200 notes versus 10 notes
- yes
- no
- notes don’t matter when I do these things
- I don’t reblog/comment on fanfics I read

In my opinion it's a lot more healthy to be able to own that you dislike someone for petty reasons than to do all kinds of mental gymnastics to make everyone you don't really vibe with out to be a bad person actually
