Netflix stock surges to record high as investors bet on streaming during #coronavirus.

Netflix shares rose 3.2% in today’s session to end the day at $426.75, topping the July 9, 2018 record high of $418.97. Netflix was one of only 30 S&P 500 components to gain in the first quarter as the coronavirus spread across the globe; the stock has added 33% so far this year as the S&P 500 has dropped 14%.

Apple released a smaller iPhone priced at $399, cutting the starting price for the company's smartphone line in a move to broaden its appeal to budget-conscious customers as the #coronavirus hobbles the global economy.

The lower-cost model could also attract more consumers to Apple services, a growing driver of revenue. Shares of Apple fell 0.8%, less than the 2.1% decline of the S&P 500 index.

Apple will start taking orders for the phone on its website on Friday, with delivery of devices expected to start April 24.

Twitter updated its safety policy to prohibit tweets that “could place people at a higher risk of transmitting COVID-19.” The new policy bans tweets denying expert guidance on the virus, encouraging “fake or ineffective treatments, preventions and diagnostic techniques” as well as tweets that mislead users by pretending to be from health authorities or experts.

When Twitter determines that a Tweet violated the Twitter Rules, they require the violator to remove it before they can Tweet again. A user is notified of this via email and given a chance to delete the tweet or make an appeal. While that is happening, the tweet is hidden from view.

Former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick sold over half his stake in the company in the past two weeks, including a $578 million chunk of shares. Kalanick has now sold shares worth $1.46 billion since Uber’s stock lockup ended on November 6.
