I was trying to write a fic where Snake and Otacon get into a fight (sorry I’m evil) but nothing I wrote makes sense because they’re just so in sync. I mean, even in MGS1 where they’re on iffy terms for the first half, they quickly set aside their differences and become friends. Like how can I watch the codec call where Snake tells Otacon to keep on living when Otacon chooses to stay behind on Shadow Moses and be like yeah, these guys would have a serious couple fight.

Even in 4 most of the conflict for them is Snake’s lack of communication about his feelings or being short with Hal. Nothing mean is ever really said between them.

Basically they’re the couple that never fights but will get into arguments about taking out the trash or what to watch on TV

Edit: in 2 where Otacon keeps information from Snake, Snake would be rightfully pissed, right? But I just can’t actually see that affecting them long term because Otacon is very genuine and Snake knows that
