Chapter 4: "It's in your eyes"

Ship: Itachi x Karin

Because Itachi had such a busy week with back to back missions and other duties, Karin has decided to do something nice for him; and let him sleep in today. Since they've been living together for some time now, it was a team effort to take care of their home. To quote Ino, Karin quickly learned that Itachi was "the perfect male wife".She couldn't deny that either. Itachi was very good at doing household things, far more than expected really. But even the perfect male wife needs his rest.

Since she had the day off from the hospital and no one else needed her, Karin took care of the household chores: cleaning, sweeping, dusting and reorganizing.

By the time evening set in, she was already making dinner. She had to admit, she did a pretty damn good job all by herself. She even gave herself a small pat on the back! There was just one last thing she needed to do.

Itachi was still sound asleep when Karin quietly entered their bedroom. She joined him in bed, observing how he slept so peacefully. The poor thing must have been exhausted. She'll have to scold him about that.

She watched as he slowly stirred awake, his eyes fluttering open and being greeted by the orange hues of the sun in the windows.

She kissed him on the kiss. "It's dinner time sleepyhead."

Chapter 3: Unrequited Love

Karin poured Sakura a glass of iced tea and handed it to her.

"Thanks..." Sakura replied.

Karin could tell this would be a discussion about relationships just from Sakura's tone of voice alone. They were close, both learning under Tsunade and Shizune after all.

"Start from the top." Karin said.

"I saw them together today, Sasuke and Hinata... They were in the marketplace." Sakura began.

"Were they holding hands?"

Sakura nodded. "Karin, I-... When I saw them like that... My heart started hurting. Like I was being sucker punched in the gut."

"Sakura-..."

"I know, I should move on and not worry about them. But-... But it's not fair!" Sakura shouted. "All my friends are in relationships: You with Itachi, Ino with Neji, Tenten with Naruto! And I'm still just a lonely woman..."

Karin handed Sakura some tissues as she saw that Sakura was about to cry. "It's okay to cry, I know how you feel."

"How?"

"Because I've been there before too, remember?"

Sakura wiped her tears with the tissue.

"I used to be so jealous of you and of Ino because you got to be close with Sasuke... And when I saw the guy I loved with another woman? I was extremely heartbroken." Karin began. "But if wan't you and the other? I'd be in way worse shape." She put a hand on Sakura's shoulder.

"You're young, talented, smart and of course, beautiful. Sasuke isn't the one to see all that about you, but someone will definitely come along, and see all those good things about you... Just like Itachi did for me."

Sakura was able to smile and nod in agreement with her. "Thanks Karin. I guess I just really needed that reminder."

"Hey if you ever need a motivational speech, I'm your girl!"

Chapter 2: Somewhere Only We Know

Ship: Itachi x Karin

"How was your last mission?" Karin asked her boyfriend.

"Needless to say, it was full of interesting events." Itachi answered.

This was a rare but common practice for the both of them. When their schedules would allow, they would get together and sit by the river that lead out to Fire lake. They would sit there, sometimes for hours just talking or admiring the scenery.

"How have your medical studies gone with Lady Tsunade?"

She shrugged. "So far so good. I'm not punching down buildings but I am bettering my skills with my kekkei genkai."

He nodded. "So long as you're making progress."

She nodded in agreement before leaning on his shoulder. "Did you tell them yet?"

"Hm?"

"Your parents. Did you tell them we're dating?"

Itachi exhaled. "Mother knows now, haven't talked to father yet... I know how that will go."

"He's a stubborn traditionalist, right?"

"He's a stubborn asshole..."

Karin laughed. "Wow that bad huh."

He nodded. "He'll find out... When we set the wedding date years later."

"The wedding date?"

"Would you like when we have our first child?"

Karin only continued to laugh and hugged him. "You are something else."

"In all seriousness, I'll tell him, just eventually. I'm in no rush to hear him scold me about pointless clan politics." He said. "Regardless of what he says or how he feels, I'm still going to be with you." He told her before kissing her forehead.

She giggled happily when he said that. "I love you too, Itachi."

Chapter 1: Meeting in a Dream

Ship: Itachi x Karin

Doubt, a familiar old enemy for Itachi Uchiha...

With the way his life was so turbulent, it felt like a horrid storm both during the day and even in his dreams at night.

In truth? He was scared. Terrified even.

What if something goes wrong? What if something happens to Shisui? What if...Gods forbid... What if something happens to Sasuke?

The storm was ruthless and merciless. Nothing was able to withstand it's power never ending. Brisk winds tearing everything down, and a torrential down pour making a flood.

Was this a sign of things to come for him? Was there no end to this? Was he really this powerless?

It was in midst of all this chaos, all this doubt- that he saw her.

She was standing there, at the center of the storm. He recognized her: Her red hair, her glasses, her smile. It was Karin Uzumaki.

Itachi couldn't believe it at first; her being here in his dream like this.... Sure they had spoken in the past before but, it was just casual conversations. Still, his curiosity got the better him and he walked towards her.

As he did, the world around him started to change: The wind was no longer wild and howling. The rain was lightening up, and the thunder and lightening even stopped entirely. This would happen, everything gradually settling down until it was finally all over.

When he faced her, their eyes looking at one another, Itachi asked: "How did you do that?"

She simply took hold of both his hands. "I didn't do anything Itachi, you did everything." She said. "You don't have to be afraid anymore."

She was right, Itachi didn't have to be so afraid of what may happen in the future. Once he started moving, everything settled down around him. It was all making sense now. Itachi gave her hands a gentle squeeze and smiled at her.

Although this was only in a dream, he knew he wanted to do this sort of thing with her in person.

Update

In light of recent events revolving around Ao3's breech, my works will from now on be locked to Ao3 accounts only.

I am truly sorry, but with this AI thing gone horribly wrong, I have to protect my work in some fashion.

I hope you all can understand.

What I might do, and it's a really big might, I might post copies of chapters that I post to Ao3 for non-ao3 accounts. I will make a poll and see if that's something people would like to see moving forward.

Some (late) Hana Inuzuka x Itachi Headcanons for Hana's Birthday

When they were kids, Hana and Itachi would hangout after the academy. They would go get dango and talks about their younger brothers.

When Itachi was going to the hospital for his illness, Hana would assign her dogs as Itachi's personal therapy dogs to help. They would become his all-round therapy dogs due to the stress in his life.

Itachi was extremely nervous to ask Hana out for a date.

Kiba and Sasuke would periodically spy on Hana and Itachi when they were together.

It was so strange to him, having these emotions for someone else.

Love.

Compassion.

Intimacy.

It was all just so new, so fresh it- scared him terribly! Sasuke: The avenger, the outcast, the last of the Uchiha clan- has found love. Yes. It finally hit him, he has finally found love in the most peculiar of places.

It wasn't with Naruto or Sakura or even Karin. No no it was with someone he never would have expected. It was Tenten.

Tenten...

If anyone were to ask how they've been together for so long, Sasuke surely wouldn't know how to respond. In truth, he still doesn't know fully, but he has an idea.

What he did know? He knew what intimacy was supposed to feel like, and it was all because of her.

She didn't judge him for his crimes. She never fawned over him because he looked attractive. She was honest, sincere and understanding. Their love wasn't forced upon them, it bloomed naturally over the years.

The Uchiha laid in their bed, the sun hadn't come up yet. He was looking at her, his eyes so fixated on her body as she slept. He used his arm to pull her close to him for a spooning session. He just wanted to feel her warmth, it was something so innocent and endearing that could only be shared between the two of them.

He loved her, and that's all that mattered now.

Lychee Ramune

It happened again, but they were used to it by now.

Tenten and Karin sat on the bridge with their feet dangling over the flowing water below. They had just won another fight with the delinquent girls who were looking for trouble. Even though they tried to keep their relationship private, gossip soon circulated about them being gay for one another.

Karin had patched them both up before heading to the convenient store to get some goodies.

Tenten handed her a lychee flavored ramune soda. "You know this'll keep happening right?"

"Of course. We're gay, might as well have big ass targets on our backs..."

"Do you still want to?"

"Huh?"

"Be together, do you still want to?" Tenten asked with a straight face. "Because it's only going to get worse from here on, and I'd hate for something to happen just because you're my girlfriend. I don't want to do that to you..."

Karin blushed before adjusting her glasses. "Y-Yeah I still want to be with you! You should know I'm tougher than I look!" She huffed. "I'm not going to let assholes ruin our relationship Tenten, you mean so much to me!"

Tenten smiled and laughed a little. "I know I know. I just- I just want to be sure we can make it you know?"

"You're damn right we can make it." Karin said sternly. "I'm in it for the long run. I've got your back if you got mine."

"I've got your back Karin. You don't ever have to worry about that."
