I...kinda have to give Ace this one, Levi. You really have no room to talk after how you acted and what you said to him in the last trial (which I support you for but can also see why he's less hesitant to trust you as a result). I know, you're speaking from experience and honestly giving him the same treatment he was giving you for the way you acted (which is fair), but like. Man. Maybe just stay out of this fight.

It's kind of ironic in how Nico was afraid to come out because they thought people would exclude them and ignore them as usual. But even when someone like Ace supposedly hated them, the last thing he ever did was exclude or ignore them.

Hell, if memory serves, he didn't even try to get physically violent with them until after their attempted murder. Which...to be fair, he wasn't going after them for their gender. He was going after them for his bleeding neck. And like...little understandable, in that regard.

Even before they came out, they were being left out of things or ignored in the killing game. Teruko even missed that they were sleeping on the floor the whole time she was talking to Rose.

But when it comes to Ace? Well, David said it as much.

Every time they're together, Ace physically cannot leave them alone. He cannot ignore them or leave them out. So many of Ace's scenes are trying to get into Nico's business, for better or for worse (usually worse).

It could mean nothing, but it's truly so interesting to see how Ace, loudmouthed bully Ace, really doesn't do a lot of the things the people in their life usually did to torment them. And when the switch does flip, it's because they tried to kill him as opposed to their gender.

God, I was so ready to go into my rewatch with the knowledge that maybe I just missed some things. Maybe Ace was far worse to Nico than I remembered, maybe I'm just misinterpreting him.

...But like. He truly was so obsessed with them, and the last thing he was doing was bullying them for their gender. He was bullying them because he was an insecure, anxiety-riddled coward and a hater.

Honestly as much as I appreciate him trying to help despite not caring about Ace, he just...really needs to stop. Teruko might've been too blunt about how he should leave Ace to his own devices but also clearly Levi trying to help him IS kind of hurting more than anything. Levi, for your sake and his, just...let it be. Stop trying to fix the issue, when clearly it's just bad for both of you. Or fuck it, do what Nico did and try to kill him because that's hot.
