Yesterday I discovered my new found love for hot yoga. There is just something about being in a heated room while partaking in your practice that changed everything I thought I knew and loved about yoga. I was drenched when I finished and it felt AMAZING. My body felt lighter, cleaner, and I was glowing like never before.
So, this is a picture of me doing what I love in the coldest place I’ve ever been too. ♥️❄️

Same pose, whole different headstand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This pose may look the same but feel completely different. In the first lotus headstand I am using my neck as support therefore making it simple to engage my core and keep it active the whole transition.
The second lotus flower forearm stand, on the other hand, is very difficult. I feel unstable, shaky, less in control which makes it very difficult to keep my core tight the whole transition.
This has been my favorite asana to practice lately and my goal is to one day start in a seated lotus flower, use my core to pull my torso all the way up, ending in the forearm lotus flower without ever unraveling.

I am trying to work on my patience. I’ve noticed that I can be sort of aggressive sometimes when annoyed. Yoga helps me slow down, tune in with my inner self, and be present within that moment. I’m hoping it can also help me become more patient, aware, and calm.
I try to take 30 minutes each day to work on myself.
Everybody should.

It’s amazing how much your body can improve with just a little bit of dedication..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The picture to the left was taken on January 2nd, 2019; the picture to the right was taken on February 23rd, 2019.
In the first picture, I had to rely on my head as a tripod in order to sustain my body over my head. Strength is funny in headstand standards because I may be strong enough one day to rest all my body weight merely on my forearms but the next fail every attempt. I love practicing my headstands, I love the feeling of full body control as I balance my legs in the air, I love the strength I gain every time I practice. I want to get stronger. I want to muster as much control as possible. I want to develop the best handstand/headstand posture I could ever create. I want this bad and I want to keep records of my journey. YouTube channel coming soon?...
Happy Thursday everyone ✌🏼

Another asana mastered and in the books. I have been LOVING this pose and now I’m working on getting it mastered on elevated surfaces. Can’t wait to see what else I can master in the next few months 🤭... Practice, practice, practice !

I’ve always loved editing and used to do it quite a bit when I was younger. The older I get, I have less and less time to dedicate to the things I used to love. This is the first edit I have done since my mom’s wedding video back in 2012; it’s not my best but also not the worst I’ve ever done.
My goal is to keep making content & slowly get confident enough to post my videos on YouTube. I love making videos of my personal yoga flows and hope that by posting them, I’ll be helping somebody else figure out their own flows too.
Happy Thursday everyone ✌🏼

I have been trying to improve my elevated handstands for a while now... Wonder how much better at them I’ll be a year from now?...
Yoga makes me feel like a superhuman. When I practice my favorite asana’s I feel strong, powerful, happy, at peace, and of course, balanced. This practice takes me back to my gymnast days... simpler days... lovely days. Loving how strong I've been getting/feeling now let’s see what improvements time brings.
