This is a short film our Creative Director Anthony Wallace was secretly working on for months after our last Oahu visit in 2013 when we were out there for a small tour. We had no idea he was working on this until a few weeks ago he sent it in an email and just asked "what do you think?" "umm...AMAZING! That's what we think" was our reaction. It was just so different. Different is an understatement really. I mean, this is HIP HOP we're talking about, who is doing ANYTHING like this in hip hop today? I was so stoked on it. I couldn't wait to get it out to the whole world. So we didn't. It was released about a week later. We at Keep Records just felt like it was the perfect taste of what we're all about. We are not about noise, we are not about that flashy, loud, arrogant shit. This is so in-your-face hip hop and yet not hip hop at all. All we want is just to bring it all back to where it started. Hopefully this is just the beginning.

This video is titled “Cut the Umbilical”. It stars Keep Records recording artists ILLIS IT and Syntax Vernac. We shot this one on our last trip out to Oahu and found it, literally, behind a bus stop if you can believe it. Behind a bus stop and across the street from a psych ward. Yeah. And it only got better from there. The place was abandoned, dirty, creepy, and perfect for our video shoot. It just so also happened to have this old falling apart piano right in the middle of one of the many rooms there which was ridiculous since there is a piano sample in the song. Like I said, perfect. I personally was pretty sure that there was going to be a dead body in one of the rooms or something, the place was really crazy looking in real life but NOPE, no dead bodies today. :D Unfortunately I was being eaten alive by mosquitoes the day we were shooting this and spent most of the shoot in the car waiting for these guys to do their thing. Probably one of those things I’ll always regret. I can’t wait to go back though. With some bug spray of course. Enjoy!

This is the "Substance Abuse" video by Speach Impediments and it is really one of my favorite songs off of the "Cobwebs" album.

We shot this video in Las Vegas with Mavie-"Big Seek"-Corral of Ghosthouse Studios directing. This one was a ton of fun to shoot! We shot most of this in downtown LV. Other bits were either shot on the way back to CA or in CA.

DrewID and Syntax Vernac had a show at Hip Hop Roots LV that night (which is what the performance footage is) and stayed at the El Cortez where we shot a lot of the room footage. And that is totally my garage in some of the scenes. Ha!

Since the song highlights the usefulness of vices in the studio and in the overall creative process, weed, shrooms, and booze were flowin' that night so these fellas could get into character. I'm surprised that we got anything useful! It's a great video and we all had a lot of fun making it, so enjoy!

Sup FunkyBunch!

This is a video we created of Keep Records newest signed artist ILLIS IT. We shot this in Las Vegas the day that we signed him. This is a commercial to basically introduce him to the rest of the world because we found him, literally, on an island. The island of Oahu, HI to be exact. And I'll tell you what.. It was a true "Who IS this guy?!" moment when we (the label manager and I) saw him rock for the first time. His delivery is intense and his message is clear. This guy is ready to take over.

This was such a fun video to shoot. The song "Substance Abuse" obviously gave us a very direct subject to film, PARTYING, so we threw DrewID, Syntax Vernac, some Christmas lights, tons of empty booze bottles, and freshly charged e-cigs together and just watched these guys do their thing. Very excited to see this video come together.

What an experience making this one was. We snuck onto one of those paths that are closed to the public and just started filming. Man it was beautiful up there! Pretty close to the Pali Lookout if you've ever been to Hawaii.

Filmed on Oahu, HI with me as director's assistant to Anthony Wallace.

Director's assistant meaning I had to literally hold the director by the shoulders and guide him in the opposite direction while we were walking and he was shooting. We did it abbbbout...100 times. My legs were on fire. But it was SO worth it!

So one of our first orders of business in beautiful Missoula was dropping by Zoo 107.5 to let everyone know about our big show at Monk's. Followed by getting "The Bloom" spun on the radio! Cool beans.
