November Workshop - Dwarf Arabalester

Michael does it again!!! We’ll be painting him as a dwarf. We’ll get creative and see how we can change how to look a bit shorter than he already is. And an awesome crossbow to work on. This costume is based on the armor worn by the Belgian arabalesters, or crossbowman, from the battle of Visby.

I’ll be sure to exaggerate his beard. What would you plan to do?

7/26 - Head Study Sessions

I’ve been wanting to add a head study night for a very long time. With the help of Melissa Sue Stanley and Platform Studios we are finally making it happen. We’re going to all get a little closer and work on our portraiture skills, our head anatomy, or whatever you feel you need to focus on.

We encourage you to volunteer to be a model. It will get you a free pass to a future session or workshop. Get a friend to come in to sit for us.

July Workshop- MtG's Chandra

This July 27 we’ll try not to set the studio ablaze while we draw and paint Chandra! Magic the gathering’s most beloved pyromancer Planeswalker. Bring plenty of water, it’s gonna be a hot one.

FIW and Platform Studios will soon be bringing you Friday Portrait Night. We’re working on the details and will let you know when the first date will be. We’ll probably host it once or twice a month. We also encourage you to be a model. just let us know.

Platform Studios will also be helping to step in and keep FIW running during the months I can’t get a spare weekend. Plan on there being at least one workshop a month from now on.

FREE December Workshop- Hoplite Soldier

This December we’ll draw and paint an ancient Greek Hoplite soldier. Michael has put together a fantastic costume for us.

Normally the workshop is $25, as a Thank You to our artists this workshop will be free.
