Parkour Civilization 1 is about how capitalism incentives the people living within it to keep moving up its ranks (even though it’s functionally impossible to do so), believing they’ll be safe if they just get a bit richer, only to be in a situation that’s even more difficult to maintain. How one bad fall can cost you everything, and how it’s much easier for the rich to avoid making that fall.

Parkour Civilization 2 is about getting betrayed by queercoded bitches (you are parkour Jesus Christ).

Parkour civilization is so real for having every character never introduce themselves and by the time you actually get to know them its too late to ask for their name so you just awkwardly sit there. Shout out to such wonderful names as “The Parkour Villain” “Evbo’s Master Friend” “The Old Man” “Pro Neighbor”, the literal only guy that gets a name is Seawatt and thats just cause of the implanted memory.

so i watched parkour civilization earlier because i could not stop seeing tweets about it and. man. this shit is so funny. it’s such a silly premise - the sort of thing that could only be born out of a community extremely dedicated to doing wacky video game challenges - but the execution somehow manages to be incredibly entertaining. it simultaneously breaks so many rules of storytelling (“telling” over “showing” to the extreme) while also having a super coherent, tight, and tension-inducing plot structure. you have to do away with all your cringing and embarrassment and just take the thing on its own terms. it’s a perfect, over-the-top pastiche of a certain type of shounen anime crossed with a certain kind of ya dystopia. it’s an ultra-accessible tale about class warfare and a fascinating takedown of meritocracy as a concept. it takes itself so seriously it’s impossible not to respect it. major kudos

I watched Parkour Civilization and I need everyone to watch it please its so funny, the very genuine social commentary and well done world building mixed with the youtuber voice that literally never stops and completely ridiculous levels of seriousness towards everything being parkour, just its peak. Its just stupid fun

I love the sibling relationship between the O'Hair twins.

Darling and Dexter are twins and they love each other, obviously but we don't see them interact much in the show.

But Holly and Poppy 😭😭😭😭

Poppy is the only ever after high student without a destiny. She's only there because Holly didn't want to go to school alone and ask Headmaster Grimm if Poppy could attend too.

If what Headmaster Grimm says about Raven and her story "going poof" after she doesn't sign the Storybook of Legends is true, what does that mean for Poppy? Poppy can't sign the Storybook at all, she doesn't have a destiny- does she go poof after high school?

And whether or not that's true, you'd better fucking believe Poppy believes it to be true. Which fucking sucks, but she's the younger twin, she was never going to get the destiny.

EXCEPT SHE'S NOT. Holly and Poppy's birth certificates were mixed up after they were born. Poppy's the oldest and Holly's the youngest and they know that. Poppy knows that.

Poppy has been told her entire life that people without stories, without destinies disappear, cease to exist- go poof- so she knows what not having one means. She knows that being without a destiny by graduation would mean her younger sister, Holly, would cease to exist.

So fuck it, let Holly have the destiny. Poppy doesn't need to be a queen or get saved or live happily ever after or even live after highschool as long as Holly gets to.
