I fully believe that splinter started "training" the boys as a way to channel and learn to control their super soldier energy and tire them out (that's why he didn't take it seriously until the dark armor).

can you imagine having those 4 untamable little monsters destroy everything and hurting each other accidentally every minute of every day??

(in mascot melee they buy splinter a robe because he was "training" them in a shredded one, and that looks a lot like a routine thing but a pretty chill one. which imo is in line with them getting bored with splinter and wanting more as they grew up)

Sooooo am doing some house keeping of my files and found this fight I never finished. I did it two years ago when I started to try fight scene storyboarding stuff (note this was before Escape-A-Tello) IT IS VERY OLD AND SCRATCHY, but thought I would share this anyway as, in a way, I am still proud of it
