aside from Penny’s few phrases, I’m 99% sure that’s all his voice and it’s amazing.

"If I were to call, I can assure you, you wouldn't be around very long."
Abel gave her a sad, ironic smile. "But wouldn't that be better off for everyone?"
Her hospitality didn't go unappreciated, though, so he amended, "Thank you," even if it sounded a little half-hearted. The woman was going to great length and risk to house a serial killer.
But another thought struck him, "Do you have any family?"
Mason nodded her head. "I do. Abel Plenkov. You're all over the news." She had to give some thought to her second answer. Why did she keep him, exactly? She sighed a bit. "I don't particularly know why I haven't...but truthfully, you wouldn't want me to." She paused. "I suppose I'm...curious about you. Besides. If I were to call, I can assure you, you wouldn't be around very long." That was a sad truth. Abel Plenkov would in all likelihood be given the death sentence. She almost felt what she could call...pity for him. It wasn't exactly his fault that all of this had happened. It wasn't like he was a killer by choice. It just didn't seem fair to turn him in.

Abel stared at the women for a few moments. Instead of reciprocating the introduction, he asked quietly, "Do you know who I am?" If she didn't he wasn't about to tell her, but if she did know who he was, what were her motives for taking care of him? Knowing who he was would explain, at least, why she had kept him in her home instead of calling an ambulance. But even then, why would Mason keep the Ripper in her house? "Why... why didn't you call anyone?"
It shocked Mason to finally hear that soft, but strained voice. She opened the door to his room carefully, doing everything in her power not to startle him too much. As she entered she closed the door behind her and sat on the edge of the bed. She looked him over briefly just to make certain that he wasn't bleeding through the bandages before speaking. "I'm Mason. Mason Verger. You uh...you kinda passed out on the farm and scared the shit out of the horses." She sighed slightly. "You were bleeding terribly and...and dying. I figured I'd help out." She was almost rambling due to the fact that she honestly couldn't believe he'd pulled through. Abel was definitely intriguing to her. So much more now that he was right here in front of her.

Abel didn't awake for days and began to seem like a lost cause. He hung on the edge of life, as pale as a sheet with shallow breathing, but one day he slowly surfaced into a disoriented consciousness. When the events from earlier that week came back to him, he thought, It must have been a dream, but the intense pain from his wounds reasserted that it wasn't. He was quickly overwhelmed by his memories and let out a chocked sob, squeezing his teary eyes shut and wishing to be unconscious again.
Abel didn't know where he was or how he had gotten there; his last memory was when he tried to stab himself to death to save Leah, so everything between then and now was lost time. Did Leah make it out alive? Where was he now? Abel tried to move, but winced and quickly aborted. "Hello?" He tried to call out in a horse voice. "Is anyone there?"
Mason stopped in her tracks at the alarming sound of the horses basically screaming at something. A noise like that was usually only brought out by a thunderstorm and the night sky was clear. She took off towards the noise, going through all of the possibilities of what could be scaring them in her head. She was unprepared to find a man passed out on the floor, covered in blood and barely breathing. She cautiously got closer to examine him. Her eyes widened and lit up with what could almost be excused for glee when she realized exactly who she was dealing with: Abel Plenkov. The news about the ripper had been everywhere and not much earlier that very night, news broke about his true identity.
Being quite small herself, Mason enlisted the help of her hired goons, whom she paid very well to not ask and not tell, to carry him to a spare room. She then busied herself cleaning and dressing the wounds as best as she could, wondering to herself how he was even still alive. She wiped the blood from him and sighed. There was no way to tell when he’d wake and how he’d react to being there. So she simply decided to leave to her own room for the night.

The Ripper stumbled through thick brush, looking for somewhere, anywhere, to hide. He was sopping wet from the river, still bleeding heavily, and heaving out ragged breaths. As much as the serial killer could will this mortal shell to display seemingly super-human strength and endurance, he could only force the car to go so far on an empty tank of gas. He had felt the pain of getting stabbed and shot and subsequently chosen to ignore it, but now he was coming up to the limit of how far he could force this body to continue.
Thankfully, the Ripper came upon a farm. He trudged into the stables, hoping to sleep in a rafter somewhere, but as soon as he entered the horses starting whinnying. Well, screaming would be a more accurate term, kicking and rearing in their cubicles as they did so. But before the Ripper could turn around and flee again, Abel's body reached the end of its rope. He blacked out and collapsed there in the dirt.

They all nodded in agreement, that is, Abel nodded. Abel himself wouldn't mind being pleasantly unconscious for the next few days.
---
A guard guided Penny from her cell to Dr. Chilton's office. Penny, as opposed to Abel, because she had gotten too anxious and already taken the wheel. She was so nervous about getting to the airport on time, that she had gotten there three hours too early. When Penny arrived, she was in lighter restraints as the doctor had promised: simple handcuffs that left her ankles free. She sat down in the plush leather seat in front of the doctor's desk and crossed her legs, wrapping her arms around her waist in a shrinking posture. She was excited, but very nervous to have one precious hour alone with the doctor.
In a high voice without eye contact, she asked, "Where do we start?"

Frederick watched with rapt fascination. Each personality brought a change in Abel’s voice, a subtle shift in demeanor, even his face altered, just a little. The doctor leaned forward in his seat, overpriced pen in hand, and jotted down the names quickly.
He glanced up once they had finished. “Extra security can be arranged for the Ripper,” he assured him. He paused, considered. “For the rest of them, I’ll see about reducing your restraints. It’ll be a trial, of course. If something goes wrong, well… a guard might need to be present for the rest.”
He offered a charming smile. “For now, however, I think we can conclude this meeting, and I shall see… Penny back here tomorrow. Sound good?”

"Me first! Uh, Penny that is."
"I'll go next. Brad."
"Then Kodi~"
"James!!"
Abel paused with a blank look as the remaining two sorted out amongst themselves.
"Gerry will go fifth."
Felix remained, so he concluded unenthusiastically, "I guess I'll go last. Felix will go last."
Abel resumed his place at the wheel. He bit his lip, but conceded after having calmed down. "You can only talk to the Ripper if he's in a cage. With a guard standing by. Don't ever talk to him in here or alone."

Frederick jumped a little in his seat, and looked startled. He recovered quickly, smoothed out his tie, listened intently. He held up a hand.
"Alright, alright, calm down. I’m sorry to have upset you. Perhaps I’ll reconsider." For now, anyway. Perhaps there was a way to tempt the Ripper out during one of the other meetings…
"I do still wish to talk with the others. Do they have a preference for an order and appointment dates?"

They seemed to like the idea of the doctor getting to know each of them individually. It was unlike what Dr. Blake had done. It allowed them each a chance to take the wheel without fighting for it and a simple, focused conversation.
All of them were deeply alarmed, however, by the suggestion the bring out the Ripper. "NO!" They shouted at the doctor. Abel shuffled back in his chair, bringing his feet up and gripping the arms with white knuckles, "P-please don't bring him out, Dr. Chilton. You have no idea what he could do- what he will do." He was terrified of what 'other methods' entailed and even though he was as at Chilton's mercy, he couldn't trust him to be able to handle the Ripper.

Frederick’s eyebrows rose at that… peculiar response. He would’ve expected relief and gratitude, not more distress. 'Where would he go?' echoed in Frederick’s mind. It made no sense until he recalled the mention of ‘souls’ in the few areas he’d skimmed through in Abel’s file.
Before he could respond, others did ahead of him. He watched with fascination as Abel’s voice changed. Briefly, but enough to inflame his curiosity further. The words didn’t make sense, not until they reached the very end.
Like a shark sensing blood in the water, Frederick grinned. “As much of an ego-boost that statement is, it’s really a tad over dramatic.” No matter how truthful it was, and they both knew it. “Prior to your proposal, my recommendation would’ve been for meet the… ah, others, individually, on separate days. Get to know them as little, or hopefully, as much as they would permit.”
Enough to eventually eradicate them being the end goal, but he did not mention this.
"However, given your obvious anxiety over the Ripper, I think that is where we should start." He paused to let that information sink in. "Would he like to speak with me willingly, or should I use… other methods?"
