4th of July Headcanons

 Had to jump on the band wagon

Two-bit buying illegal fireworks

And then setting his pants on fire accidentally

Steve constantly yelling ‘Murica’

Ponyboy writing poems about america and fireworks

Steve daring Sodapop to set off a firework in the house

Darry smacking Steve upside the head for telling Soda to do such a stupid dare

And then smacking Sodapop upside the head for even thinking about it

Two-bit singing ‘Firework’ Every. Five. Minutes

Hey, Sodapop, I’d start a revolution for your number.  ‘Steve omygod shut up’

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis taking them to see the fireworks every year

Johnny really loves the fireworks and loves all the colors

Surprisingly, Dally likes them too. He mostly brushes it off and pretends to be uninterested but he really loves watching them go off and seeing all the colors.

Darry taking the boys to see the fireworks to keep the tradition alive (even if his parents aren’t) even if it makes him sad to know that his parents wouldn’t be joining them
