PERSONAL WEEK:
After shooting, we decided to take a break. While in that break, I decided to use the skills I learned in my AS Level Media to make a short transition video in under 5 mins in the middle of my media class as a time-pass assignment.

CONCEPT:
This week, me and my team member @samairabantwal discussed and wrote the concept of our foundation portfolio.
A young 23-year-old guy, Rahat Narula, founder of the world known app FreeFam lives an amazing life as a bachelor in his bungalow, works every day in his sea-view office and enjoys life every second of the way.
He loves collecting cars and is one of the most known car collectors but out of all his cars, his favorite is his Audi A4, which was his first car which he bought by himself.
FreeFam is a social media app that allows you to post your photos and videos and make new friends. It's famous worldwide and is one of the most used apps on anyone's phone.
No one knows what life holds the next second for you, one day you are just a world-known entrepreneur, the next day on the run, hiding from that world.

Week 10
CLIP ANALYSIS:
This week, I watched a short film called New Boy with my team member @samairabantwal. I noted down the critical points which I found interesting and could be used in the future to make films
Director name: Steph Green
Produced by: Tamara Anghie
Length: 11 minutes 32 seconds
Plot: the opening shot of the film began with the introduction of the new boy in the class and later how was he treated by his classmates. It was very relevant as it has to the day to day socialization amongst new boy/girl with the existing classmates.
Camera shots: the camera shots were good . The opening shot was an over the shoulder shot. As the film went further, there were many closeups on the new boy that made the film more interesting along w long shots when showcasing the flashback of the new boy and the present at the ending of the film.
Direction: The Transition between the present time and the past flashback was smooth enough. The editing of the film was done nicely. The sound quality of the film was good and had lot of clarity.
My Opinion: I liked the short film, it had a good story line . It shows the difference between how he and his classmates used to behave towards him when he came to the school at the beginning and how were they towards the end.

EDITING:
This week, we explored and learned about one of my favourite topics in media, Editing.
Editing is basically the process of putting all of your content which you have shot, together in a timeline and adding sound and video effects on it to make it a successful project.
There are many elements in editing
Film Cut- A film cut is an immediate editing change. A film cut, put simply, is a seamless change from one shot to the next or from one scene to the next. Film cuts come in many forms, some conceptual and some narrative, but they are all technical in nature and are always identified by the direct splicing of images.
Types of Cuts in Film:
Basic Cut
J Cut & L Cut
Cut-In
Jump Cut
Match Cut
Basic Cut - The fundamental cut, also known as a hard cut, straight cut in the film, or just "cut," is used when switching between two shots (audio and video) without using excessive emphasis. Additionally, it is the key move in the shot-reverse-shot.
J Cut & L Cut - The audio/video transitions J Cuts and L Cuts are identified by the audio or video that follows them. When a shot or scene's sound begins playing before the next shot, this is known as a J cut. In other words, it occurs when the audio is followed by the visual. L cuts occur when the sound of one scene or shot is carried over to the following shot even when it no longer corresponds to the video. It frequently occurs when the audio follows the video.
Cut-In - In screenwriting, cut-ins are frequently referred to as insert shots. Cut-ins are essentially when we transition from a shot into a closer portion of the same shot. Take a wide shot of a character holding a book as an illustration.
Jump Cut - Edits that "seek attention" use jump cuts. They are distinguished by abrupt, fast cuts between shots. Jump cuts were made popular by French New Wave filmmakers like François Truffaut, Agnes Varda, and Jean-Luc Godard, and they are being employed in movies today.
Match Cut - Match cuts are transitions that move visual, narrative, or symbolic compositions from one frame to another. Match cuts come in many different kinds. Although match-cuts are overt cuts, they are excellent for creating a smooth flow. Saying that a cut that draws attention to itself can create something seamless may sound contradictory, yet it is true.
