TRICKLE THEORY
My Example of the trickle down theory is the little black dress. The little black dress (LBD) is an evening, cocktail dress.
in 1926, a short simple black dress was printed onto the cover of Vogue by Coco Chanel. The LBD quickly became one of the most influential and important garments.
The little black dress grew in popularity in 1961 when Audrey Hepburn wore it with pears in "Breakfast at Tiffanys".
Everybody wanted to wear a little black dress. Over time, the LBD trickled down through classes. It's gone from being something only the richest of people could afford to wear, to something everyone could afford.

Savvy Student
In our group, we had to create 3 looks based off the target customer we were given and a plain white shirt. Our customer was a Savvy Student. For her day wear, I created a look where she is comfortable but still fashionable. It's a simple, black and white look with silver jewellery. I paired the shirt with the jacket and jeans to create an edgy, cool look but added white trainers and minimal jewellery to show even tho she wants to look good she also wants comfort, is laid back and wants to keep things simple. Because she is a student i added a large plain black bag to carry her books and stationary.
This is my client mood board. She is a university student aged 18-20. she enjoys going out with her friends to cafes the beach and also out clubbing. she’s organised and keeps her room clean. While she loves going out she is also focused on her studies and always completes her work.
