He rocked back on his heels and met the cold smile with one of his own. “Nah. Not so much amy more, and dont worry I understand completely. I'm actually not one to get my frustrations out by listening to pained screams. Thats a few other people that I'm sure we can both think of. Present company excluded."

Henry’s display of aggression was really quite something. Niles found himself just a little impressed- the wood that covered the ground now was in pieces barely larger than an inch or two, throughly destroyed. “Very nice… Feeling a little less frustrated now?”

“I’m not perfect, but I’m trying my hardest to do everything to keep you safe.”

"You really are doing a good job." Henry replied. "You need to stop being so hard in yourself. Everyine has their off days. Even Robin." He added as he poked at the bandage that was wrapped aroind his arm.

"Very much so. I'm going to have to find another thicket for the next time. Lobing fire balls at targets and people on the battlefield isn't as effective." He remarked staring at his results.

“I didn’t say anything weird all I said was that butts were nice and also really soft!!”

“You’ve been talking to Tharja haven’t you? She’s the only one in this camp who would have a clue about my ‘reputation’.” He remarked turning back around and continuing wandering about on his patrol path. “Seriously though if you’re that worried about me killing people I shouldn’t be maybe you should voice it to Robin or Chrom?”

Henry shrugged and continued on about his business only glancing to Gaius from time to time. It was weird how this thief stuck to him like the sweets that he was so fond of. Not that he’d tried very hard to loose him. He had his doubts that he even could. “Not that I mind the company as most find me too unsettling to be around for long… but why?”

“Well, there are always a few ditches...” He stated with a shrug. “the forest works as well.” He added after a thought. However, staring at Gaius a thought occurred to him. The man didn’t quite get why he’d done this, but Henry didn’t feel up to telling him at the moment. The adrenaline high he’d been on from killing the man was leaving and he was starting to shake ever so slightly. 

“Look Gaius. I really don’t want to be tossed into prison either. I wouldn’t last five minutes in there and we both know it.” He remarked. “Either we hide him, I hide. or we make up an excuse.” 

He thought for a moment, looking at both the dead man and then back at Gaius. “I have an excuse... well it’s not really an excuse as much as the truth. I’ll just tell them that it was an instinct... left over from the war.”

“Henry…”

There was so much blood. It covered the floor and Henry’s hands along with his clothing. The poor guy must’ve suffered when he died. And all because Henry was protecting him. Was he worth it? Did the man need to die? Maybe it was Gaius’ time. Maybe he didn’t deserve death. The dark mage…he could he so cruel…

“Gods, you can’t just…” The thief squeezed his eyes shut and exhaled. “I can’t let this go. You…you killed an innocent man…”

Henry stopped walking at that and turned to face Gaius with a raised eyebrow. “I don’t have a habit of killing when I’m not on the battlefield. The only time I do kill when there isn’t a battle is when someone I’ve grown close to is being threatened.” He said with a shrug. “As for the unsettling thing... us Dark Mages tend to have that aura about us.”

“Um... fairly certain someone that was about to attack you from behind isn’t entirely innocent. I don’t really make a habit of killing innocent people.” He remarked glancing around them. “And even if he was innocent... I prefer to keep people I care about in any way, shape, or form safe.”  

He could sort of understand where Gaius was coming from as most people had this reaction when they actually saw him do one of the things he did best... which was killing.
