Allow me to explain. As we know, Kokonoi loved Akane, Inui's sister. His feelings were reciprocated. Unfortunately, Akane and Inui's house burned down. Koko, wanting to save Akane, runs in the burning house to save her. But he grabs the wrong person and Akane is hospitalized. Eventually, her bills got to be too high, and she was taken off of life support. Koko was devestated, and in his grief-- grew to see Inui(who looks remarkably like his older sister) as Akane. And Koko knows that Inui isn't his sister, isn't the gold, but he tries anyways. Never know until you try, right??

Just feels like a very Mikey line. Nostalgic and sentimental. He knows he's in a bad place, doing bad shit, but he can't leave. It's home. And then its perfectly contrasted by a similar, but slightly different line that matches Kisaki.

My father and I play this… game… in which we both pretend to be attempting to assassinate each other. When we serve the other food or drink, we’ll adopt the most suspicious mannerisms and wording possible, as though the food were secretly poisoned and we are eagerly waiting for them to eat it and die.

The other player pretends that they know their food is poisoned, but must feign ignorance and try to come up with subtle excuses not to eat/drink it without seeming rude or directly confronting the other about the attempted kinslaying.
