Minecraft in 2020
This was really unexpected.
In the most random way possible, I have started playing Minecraft for the first time after all these years. I was never too interested in this game even though I knew I could like it, but after playing Animal Crossing this year (my first resource management game), I did give it some thought. Still I didn’t think I was playing so late, I thought it would happen to me like Overwatch, Which I found very interesting and I saw a lot of gameplays but in the end I never bought.
However one night two week ago I dreamed that I was playing Minecraft with my friends. Dream of which I only remember that we built a big house in the shape of a cat, by the way. I told my friends about the dream, and since we were looking videogames to play multiplayer all together, they found it an interesting idea.
Tumblr media
Since then we have had two play sessions and here I am, watching tutorials on YouTube of Minecraft in 2020, figuring out how to do the most basic things. And I’m very glad I gave it a chance. Bulding a farm little by little and getting resources with my friends has been a very fun experience. I managed to find iron ore and even diamond, and we have our crops and pens of animals such as cows, sheeps, pigs and even rabbits and a llama.
I’m not going to write anything that hasn’t already been said, but I want to emphasize that exploring the surroundings is satisfying because anything is a useful resource and the variety of biomes and materials, while the ability to shape the environment is incredible. You can really build whatever you want and with enough patience you can retouch the terrain to you liking.
If it is one of the most influential videogames in history, it is for a reason. Its proposal is unique and gives the player freedom to do whatever they want with his world, something that works very well in internet communities. Anyone can show off their creations, share tips and play games with others. It’s normal that it is a success, it is a great game of literally endless possibilities.
Its creative freedom reminds me of the Media Molecule games (Little Big planet and Dreams), but in this case it has the advantage of being on all platforms (like Skyrim!) and of immediacy. It is not about creating a world or not, or deciding between playing or creating. Sure you have the creative mode if you are only interested in building, but you play, survive, improve and make that part of a creative and improvised experience. In this randomly generated world, you interact to able to survive and make this experience as comfortable as possible as you sculpt the terrain and adapt it to your needs.
Maybe later you want to move on to decorating in greater or less depth, or maybe you want to unravel the complexities of “technical Minecraft” to improve your productivity. It is a mixture of factors that converge in an unrepeatable videogame with infinite options, which will be remembered forever.
I’m glad to play it because of the good times with my friends, but also because I feel like I’m filling a very important gap, a need to gain perspective on videogame history. Because that is what Minecraft is, it is one of the most important and influential games in history.

What has happened in all this time?
Welp, it has been a long time time since muy first post. Sorry about that.
At first I was busy studying a laboural risk prevention course, really boring, and I didn’t feel like writing anything around here. Then came the coronavirus, which took away all the positivity with which I started this year. Studying english was very difficult for me with my state of mind on the ground. Does that expression even exist in English?
Anyway, it’s time to resume this project. I’m goint to try and write a few articles about the videogames I’ve been playing recently. I hope to do it this time, looking forward to writing about my late introduction to the world of Final Fantasy, among other things.
I still have a hard time writing in english, but I will try to do my best.

Welcome to my blog
Hello!
I’m a person who is learning to write in english and I would like to progress as I write about the two things that I like the most: videogames and cartoons. I love trying to appreciate the little details that make it great.
It’s very likely that I will make maaaany mistakes, and I apologize in advantace, but my intention is to practice and have fun. At the same time I’m studying, so I hope to show improvement.
I could also write about films or other thing like ecology, because I have a degree about environment... although that can be more complicated, so let's leave that for now.
For the moment I will try to prepare a first post in the next few days, so stay tuned and have a good day~
