Nickname: Blizzard

Real Name: Raymond (No last name)

Namesake: Won a bet that he would sell 100 papers in a blizzard in under an hour

Description: Tallest of all the Newsies, 6’1, about 120 lbs, very long legs, brown messy hair, wears a new outfit every day, unlike the rest of the kids. (he only has 3 in circulation)

Personality: Similar to Jack’s, but kinder and more modest. He likes teasing his friends, but they don’t care. He’s very defensive with his close friends and will hurl insults and punches at any bully he comes across. His favorite food is spaghetti, but he rarely has it! He lives in the lodging house on a top bunk with Pup below him.

Pronouns: He/Him

Sexuality: VERY closeted gay

Affiliations with canonical characters: His bet was against Romeo, he’s cool with all the Manhattan newsboys, good friends with Crutchie and Race, and mutual buddies with Jack. Crutchie mentored him and his friend Pup when they first came to the newsboys.

Affiliations with OCs: Pup, his absolute best friend in the world, who eventually became his partner! :D He despises Fox, Pup’s brother, who he has beaten up on multiple occasions.

you know what really gets to me. is how jack loosens up david’s morals. like how david starts off as a staunch pacifist because of the Optics and strategy of it all, but then later he kicks a cop in the face and threatens him with a swing + tries to punch jack when he scabs. and both instances occur specifically because he cares so deeply about jack. But also there's this tidbit from the 91 script

it's like. up until now, david's interactions with jack have largely consisted of david being openly skeptical/confrontational whenever he detects any kind of bullshit. and while he immediately clocks that all this stuff about santa fe is a lie, for the first time, he decides to let it go. Because there's a kernel of authenticity to the statement, though the authenticity doesn’t lie in factual truth, it’s in how jack desperately "wants it to be true". because. this is david's first time seeing the soft underbelly to jack. because david IS charmed by jack despite not really trusting him
