if i had a nickel every time the highest budget bl in the industry had a plot where a heir was involved with his bodyguard, the bodyguard and heir's relationship wasn't supported because technically they were adopted relatives, a patriarch was playing chess and viciously manipulating his heirs, there was a minor clan with an abusive dad, and a minor clan's heir was extremely kinky with a servant. i would have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

The next Taiwan line-up is quite unique, with fantastical elements and horniness in spades. Besides these titles there is also Wishing upon the Shooting Stars which is currently going through re-shoots — they had around 20 days of filming prior to Teddy Chen's abrupt exit from the project, and what really surprised me is that they are pushing it through and not outright cancelling it, which leads me to believe that the contracts and demands for this release must be tight.

On the more distant future: the next wave of VBL shows (wonder if they are going to stick with the Four Seasons theme), and possibly a date for Pray in Love (from what I know this one moved since the pilot, curiously this was announced in 2023, same year of Connecting to You and Wishing Upon...).

Lin Pei Yu and Anita Sung have also stated that they are working on a new BL project, but since both got other projects lined up expect their new entry in the genre to be a 2026 release — it could be the previously announced That Year, 162 Rainfalls or maybe something else entirely.

Gaga and LineTV have yet to announce new BL shows of their own.

Ya know what I figured out why Reset hits so much for me and it's because it's so much like the Soap Operas and Telenovelas I use to watch with my Grandma in the late 90s early 2000s. The crazy storyline, the over the top acting, the villians who are just the right amount of extra. All that's missing is an evil twin, to be honest.
