To even think of phrases used in common poetry was definitely a new level of dramatics. He blinked and looked at the person- no creature-? Huh. What was this living thing? His dramatics seem to come to a halt as he just stares at the creature.

This is Fine. Absolutely and completely fine.  Everything is fine. 

Actually no. It’s not fine. Oz is upset but not for the reasons one might think. He slowly crumbles to the ground and decides to expect defeat on the cold but welcoming floor.

There’s an unusual stillness to his body as though he had chosen to hold his breath at that very moment in time. Allowing himself to ground into this current reality which was quite different than the one he was accustomed to. If anything it was all like a dream. Much like the dream he was ripped from before arriving in this strange place. Blinking he processed the sudden jab to his side glancing at the cane and then slowly trailing his eyes up to the owner. Break. The name doesn’t leave his lips as though he’s scared that uttering it might cause the person before him to fade away. His eyes widen in brief bewilderment before they crinkle and he’s smiling at the older male. It's a habit at this point. Smiling when things just don’t make the slightest sense.

❝ ..well I’d hope so. Could you imagine if someone was walking around pretending to be me? ❞ Leave it to him to answer a question with a question. A short laugh leaves him as he dramatically and rather late began to rub at his side where Break had poked.

❝So..is it really you Break? ❞ He asks with a tilt of his head as his eyes fixate on the individual before him. The Break he once knew was long gone- so how come he was standing right here in front of him as though nothing had happened? ❝ Oh! And Emily is that really her too?❞

WITH A FEW NEW POINTS OF FOCUS within the city, mad hatter didn't lose it nearly as badly as it did previously. this time, it allowed break to give permission before barraging him with directions and orders, and this time, he was able to keep himself relatively calm. maybe that was also due to the additional incentive of knowing how gilbert would react to this particular arrival.

   he'd seen oz before, in the mist. but that wasn't oz, was it? just a fragment of break's memory, the way he remembered the boy. however, the one near him is the real deal, something break would realize even without his chain adamantly nagging him about b-rabbit.

   ' you're being awfully loud for somebody who, by all accounts, should be dead. ' bold words for him, especially after their last parting. but he's aware oz wouldn't care for the mushy sort of reunion, would he? break still isn't quite sure what they went through, at the end of it all, but he knows he never wanted them to hurt this much. break raises his cane to poke oz in the side with it, hopefully undetected until now, mad hatter leading his steps.
