Acacia Navarro | 23 | HunterTrauma Nurse"She's been through more hell than you'll ever know. But that's what gives her beauty an edge. You can't touch a woman who can wear pain like the grandest of diamonds around her neck."

“Hey hey hey, don’t help her.” He rushed over, grabbing the brunette by her arm and lifting her to her feet. A bunch of bleeding suffering townspeople made preying on the weak a breeze, he didn’t even have to try. After centuries of stalking and feeding in secret, it was nice to get the chance to really make a spectacle of it. This girl here, laying on the ground and crying out for assistance, she was gonna be his first. “Go play hero for someone else, this one’s mine.”
“Hey,” Acacia called out as she was grabbed and physically moved. Wrenching her arm out of his grip she pushed him with her real strength. Hunter’s strength. “You aren’t here to help and you don’t get to claim a person. Get to fuck out before you end up laying on the ground.”

First it was the Delore parents that managed to ignite in front of the whole town population, then the Mayor to be killed. Jamie and Becks were just the devastating ending credits to a drama movie she felt as though she was living in that moment. People surrounded her in every which way as she still rested in the same place she had pulled some people from the flames, every energy that was ignited in her body was drained to nothing as she sat there, the light flickering against her ashed flushed face. “Been crying for a bit,” she said quietly; directed towards the person that Acacia began to attend next to her.
Her gaze took in the person crying in front of her and Acacia tried to locate the worst of her wounds without asking. Then the familiar voice hit her and she turned on the spot. Her eyes met Bonnie’s and relief rushed through her. Without even thinking she threw herself forward and hugged her friend. She needed to feel that some of the people she loved were still there.

riyanarayan:
The girl was on her back, too tired to do anything about the fire nor the people. She weren’t friends with them; she didn’t even know most of them. Riya’s instinct had always been to survive and that was what she was doing. She got out here the first moment she got. Looking over to the voice next to her and then the person she was helping, the wolf let out a wry chuckle, “… Fucking people be looking like Two-Face.” Now was not the time, yet Riya could never be serious even during such dire times.
Eyeing Riya as she spoke so harshly Acacia didn’t even react. Not at first. The anger unfortunately was quick to swell within her. “My good friend is dead. Not the fucking time for jokes, Riya,” she snapped before grabbing a bottle of water and handing it to the girl. “Drink it slowly. If you can make jokes I can go help people that need it.”

She didn’t know if it was her natural instinct to ignore any sort of authority, or the way her throat felt like it was burning from the inside out, but she jammed her palm upwards at the water bottle, forcing the water into her throat until there was nothing left to do but throw it all back up. She didn’t really want to drink it, she just needed to sooth the hellfire still burning in her lungs, like she had smoked a thousand blunts and forgotten to exhale after all of them.
It wasn’t the first time a patient didn’t listen and it wouldn’t be the last. Acacia allowed her to slam back the water bottle back and pulled her own hand away. Then the water was coming right back up. Reaching for the first aid kit she grabbed one of the handheld oxygen masks and held it out to her. “I can instruct you but I bet you’ll figure it out just fine.”

caidcnshaw:
There was too much running through his head, trying to fathom how a fire like that had started so suddenly, how it had moved so fast as it engulfed the house within a matter of moments. It was the throbbing pain in his leg that jumbled his thoughts, making it effectively impossible to concentrate on one singular thought. At the sudden words, Caiden was shaking his head, fingers curled into the material of his pant leg. “I’m – fine. Go help someone else, someone who needs it more.”
“You look it,” Acacia answered sardonically as she realized it was Caiden she was speaking to. He would say that no matter what he felt. “I helped what I could of the worst injuries and more qualified people are with them and getting them out of here now. Stop telling me what to do and start telling me what’s wrong. Please.”

ripperkenzie:
As far as Kenzie was aware; everyone she cared about was safe. That wasn’t the same for a lot of people, that much she knew, but it was difficult to not feel slightly elated to know that the same faces would greet her the next day and maybe if they were lucky, even the day after that. Sitting alone, the vampire fidgeted the hem of her hand made dress, her hands covered in blood as she noticed Acacia kneeling down beside her. “Oh.” she began now, waving the other off. “This isn’t mine. I’m fine. You okay?”
The surprised answer made Acacia pause and she heard the reassurance and meant to be back on her way until those last two words rang in her ears. You okay? A strangled sort of laugh seemed to erupt from her throat and she clapped a hand over her mouth. Emotionally. No. She was very far from okay but what was new in her life? Physically. She hadn’t even bothered to check. “I don’t know.” The answer was simple in it’s confusion.

“This isn’t my blood.” the blonde purred as some small brunette woman appeared in front of her, all Florence Nightingale in the wake of what had happened. “But I doubt you could help them in the state they’re in right now.”
The words would have been enough for Acacia to move on but she paused when the blonde spoke again. Had she not been so focused on being a nurse the hunter in her would have given pause. “Great. I trust you can handle yourself then?”

Carlos walked to someone that was asking for help, the same person that Acacia did, but he decided to go over there too as well, maybe one more hand to help would be good. He was trying to help everyone that could, do what he could, he wasn’t hurt in the fire, so he didn’t see why he couldn’t at least try to help everyone that was. “Is there something that I can do to help?” he asked Acacia, willing to do whatever he could to help out the person that was hurt.
Almost as soon as Acacia was off to work on the person she was kneeling beside she realized someone else had spoken. Looking up to see Carlos she realized what he had said and looked around. “Grab some bottles of water and make sure everyone who needs them in this area get them. Tell them to go slow or they’ll probably just throw it all up. Then grab me a blanket for her.” The commands came easily as she shuffled through her first aid kit and started to do her best with some of the simple wounds.

“All this screaming and crying is doing my head in — be a doll and hand me that perfectly good bottle of wine behind you; god knows how it survived but I’m glad it did”
The response surprised Acacia and was enough to knock her out of the robotic nurse act. Reaching over she grabbed it and handed it over to the blonde. “Wish I could say the same but I have work to do to get them all to stop crying.”

“I know who you are,” the woman finally stated before she took in a deep breath and let her arms move from her legs, moving to look at the other with a better view, tears staining and pulling at the skin on her cheeks. “I’m — fine, nothing that I can’t take care of with a few painkillers.”
With all the madness Acacia couldn’t even be sure of who was aware of what at this point and she had gone into bedside manner mode. The added comment suddenly broke through the professionalism and she smirked. “Don’t I know that.”

Beck was dead. The words the older hunter had spoke to her echoed in her mind as she forced her legs into motion moving about the people that were outside the flame engulfed house. She was looking to see who she could help. The tears had dried in streaks of black down her face and now she was forcing the feelings away. Feel nothing. Feel nothing. The words were a mantra in her head as she came upon someone looking for help. “I’m here,” she assured them as she moved to her knees at their side looking for the worst of their injuries.

“If you’re even —- damn well thinking of asking me if I’m okay, just fucking walk away and waste someone elses time,” the Delore hissed as the tears still streamed down her face, knees pulled up to her chest, focusing on her breathing and keeping her mind off the fire that engulfed her parents so easily, tearing them away from her before even witnessing her rise to achievement.
“Yeah not what I was going for,” Acacia breathed softly keeping any feelings out of her voice. She was calm and professional now. She was what she had to be. “Did you need anything from the emts. I’m a nurse and I’m just trying to help the injured.”

carolina-romero:
She had drifted off for just a second there, dreaming of the heat of Mexico in the summer, the way the rays had beat down on her face yet had never burnt her dark skin…startled awake for only a moment as the screaming had started, surrounded by those flames, so familiar, so maddening…someone had pulled her hand, tried to channel her energy just as she had seen her uncle do to those long-dead witches…she had viciously ripped her hand away, and then there was just smoke, billowing, engulfing. There was nothing she could do but breathe it in until she felt its vice-like grip, squeezing her throat, wishing for her death. Strong hands had grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her towards the cold, pulled her towards salvation until she was unceremoniously dropped and left to suck in the air alone, to fight off poison that had invaded her lungs. “Water.” She croaked, her throat protesting heavily to any sort of sound. “Water.”
As the girl was laid before them Acacia moved into action grabbing one of the water bottles that had arrived with the emergency staff. She brought it over to the girl signaling that the man should prop her up and then held the bottle to her lips. “Slowly. If you don’t take your time it’ll all come back up,” she explained before tipping it back to let the water splash into her mouth.

Usually, Derek was capable of being a very understanding and very comforting person after experiencing so much loss but the moment he heard the name fall from Acacia’s mouth, it only stung his heart even more, pushing the pins in deeper and breaking it in half at a quicker pace. Turning his head towards the ex-hunter, nothing but annoyance and anger was read on his face as he saw the tears falling down her face just caused him to get more angry at how easily it was for her to feel the loss, something that Derek was feeling but much more intensified. “Take your crying elsewhere, Acacia,” he hissed before pulling his sisters body onto his lap better, holding her tighter in his arms. “I don’t want to hear your useless sobs right now, not when I just lost my fucking sister.”
“Fuck you,” Acacia growled in answer when he told her to cry somewhere. “You don’t have a monopoly on grief, asshole. Beck would tell you that herself. If you hadn’t fucking let her die,” she answered back her voice harsh and full of her own anger. She’d been through his same loss with her family and just because she and Beck weren’t blood related didn’t mean she didn’t feel anything as deeply. It didn't nullify her pain. “If she were here she’d tell you to get off your ass and move on. Just like she’s always told me.” The words were the final thing she said as she stood and moved away.

His body still shook, tears staining his cheeks and soot clinging to his skin as his hands were drenched in the blood of the woman he came to love with all his damned heart while he grew up, the woman that taught him everything he knew and the woman that became the closest thing he had to a real family he had after the death of his adoptive father and his mothers demise. Body still heated up from the fire that had been in the distance, his arms clung tightly around the dead body of his sister, not a care in the world passing his mind as her blood soaked his suit and ignoring any sense of begs from the EMTs surrounding him. “Don’t —- you fucking touch her,” he hissed to the oncoming footsteps, pulling the corpse closer to his body as his heart sunk deeper in his stomach.
Being a nurse Acacia knew she should be helping. She should do everything in her power to keep the injured safe but as soon as she saw the familiar form in his arms she nearly collapsed. Tears immediately sprang to her eyes as she stumbled over to Derek before coming to rest at his side finally letting her legs buckle beneath her. “Beck,” she whispered softly the single word filled with pain. She didn’t reach out to touch her. Not when he demanded her not to do so. The grief was overwhelming and she didn’t know what to say or do. If she couldn’t ever save the people she loved what was the point. A choked noise came from her lips as she shook her head willing this all to be a bad dream.
