"Have you ever experienced a moment of true inspiration on a trip?
Years and years ago I was in Nepal and we were staying up in Dhulikhel, in the low mountains (even though it feels very high!). We’d been there for a few days and it had always been cloudy. The people at the hotel we were staying at started banging on our door one morning at 5am saying, “You have to come! You have to come!” It was sunrise. The clouds had cleared where we were and for the first time we saw the Himalayas properly. I was the most awestruck I think I’ve ever been. You already feel like you’re on the top of a mountain and then you have to crane your neck to look up for the most majestic, snow peaked mountains you’ve ever seen. It was incredible to watch as the sun rose. It was definitely a spiritual moment, and will stay with me forever."

Iran
A little reminder, always useful… and today’s irony.
Thoughts from a little French girl.
Today is Monday, and here I am off to start a new work week. Radio on in the car—France Info, state radio. Iran is under bombs. Never fun hearing that kind of news, but let’s be honest for a minute: Iran has been shouting its hatred of the West for 46 years, ever since the turbaned ones took over in 1979. According to them, the U.S., Israel, the UK, and France must be fought everywhere, often through terrorism. Iran, not exactly a democratic nation, has openly mocked nuclear non-proliferation protocols, enriching uranium right under the world’s nose. And then I remember Iran’s response back in 1999 when a huge storm devastated France: “France has been punished by God, a punishment well deserved.”
Anyway, this morning the French media were acting like it was the end of the world—as if World War III had just started. Of course, they couldn’t help but blame Trump (because let’s face it, everything is his fault in traditional media) for having shut down diplomacy with Iran. Yet oddly, no real condemnation from Europe—European leaders were probably secretly glad (but won’t say it out loud) that the U.S. was once again doing the dirty work.
So, a little historical reminder seems necessary, since the media’s stance in France tends to change depending on the political color of the day. Always good to keep in mind:
Bill Clinton, President = Bombings in Afghanistan and Sudan.
George W. Bush = Bombing of Iraq.
Barack Obama (Brace yourselves, big list!) = Bombings in Libya (with Sarkozy’s France), Syria (with support from François Hollande’s France), Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan (with Hollande again), and Pakistan. No one said a word in the media. Totally normalafter all, Obama (Peace Nobel Prize, by the way… even he was surprised) was the one pushing the buttons.
Donald Trump, first term = No wars. Troops withdrawn from Afghanistan.
Joe Biden = Bombings in Iraq and Syria.
Donald Trump, second term = Bombing of Iran, and the entire world freaks out.
Right… I guess I should think about getting my first Covid vaccine dose. The media says it’s the thing to do…
Nah, just kidding.
Annasyl.

I love this passage from Dragonfly in Amber . What a shame we didn’t get this acted out in the series. Sam and Caitriona would have made it amazing.

The US has two carrier groups in the Strait of Hormuz!
Maria Bartiromo : Do you expect Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz to disrupt oil transportation?
Secretary Rubio : "If they do that, it will be another terrible mistake. It's economic suicide for them if they do it, and we retain options to deal with that."

Exactly! The hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds! Killary sold uranium to Iran,Obozo gave them palettes of money. Biden released the sanctions on Iran to fund Hamas, the October 7th attacks, the Houthis,Hezzballa, and any other terrorists groups. Iran is the leader in state sponsored terrorism, period. The head of the snake was cut off with operation Midnight Hammer!

This was one of my favorites, Cait wore!
Not a single defect!
"And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good..."
Sometimes I think that even God looks at this creation of His and is amazed at its perfection.
