small romione things that weren’t mentioned in the books because they weren’t relevant to harry’s journey

jkr sucks at writing romance so here are things that probably happened but she just didn’t put them in the books because she assumed that jealousy was a better way to convey two people caring about each other than, you know, seeing them caring about each other:

- after easter break ron comments that hermione’s new haircut looks good and she spends the next week smiling a little whenever she looks in a mirror

- when ron can’t figure out a charm hermione gets into the habit of putting her hand on his to correct his form. once they realize they like each other this habit gets a lot more awkward as they both fumble and harry pretends not to notice

- in sixth year every time harry has a private lesson with dumbledore and ron and hermione stay up waiting for him, ron gets hermione to put her studying away and play chess with him

- ron loves the look on hermione’s face when she’s pretending not to be annoying at herself for losing yet again

- she thinks he’s just being smug over his victory

- they’re at hogsmeade and hermione forgets her scarf, so ron gives her his

- hermione returns it almost two months later, looking sheepish

- ron looks at hermione when he gets a spell right on his first try and blushes so hard when she grins back at him

- hermione glances at ron when she gets yet another question right in class

- ron has a tiny little smile on his face that he would deny to hell and back that he gets when listening to hermione spout textbook definitions

- hermione cheers so loudly when ron blocks the quaffle even though she brought a book and has been reading for most of the match

- when harry points out that she never cheered for him catching the snitch, she gets oddly snappish

- and many more! never forget that ron and hermione may have argued a lot, but they were really close friends and really enjoyed each other’s company

ok but ron and hermione as parents would be so freaking cute. like just imagine hermione giving rose and hugo her old muggle toys and ron having just as much fun figuring them out with the kids. and then hermione’s just watching her whole family deeply fascinated by a toy train while she finally gets to enjoy a book she’s been meaning to read for the past four years

I will never ever be over Romione haters like… damn, if it was any other two characters you would be all over it but because it’s Ron and Hermione the amount of bullshit that ship gets is incredible

the story is beautiful. the girl ends up with the friend and not the main hero, the sidekick who is smart, he has an incredible character arc (I know some people literally ignore character arcs so as someone who understands let me tell you Ron’s character arc is bloody brilliant to say the least), they go through a goddamn war together, they go through hell, they have a PINING ERA, they lose each other then one of them finds their way back to the other and they are in love and they fucking survive and you are telling me they are not good together? How much more slow burn could that shit have been? Like how could the foundation be any stronger?
