Reminder: Cultures are not Costumes
As the American holiday of dressing up approaches, this is a good time to remember that Native Americans, Mexicans, Roma/Romani and many other ethnic groups are cultures, not costumes. Also, ‘Gypsy’ is a slur.

Lavinia Asimov's surname should have been Asimova, because that's how Russian surnames work. It would have been nice to see more of her, particularly if she met Cecil Markowitz & Julia Feingold in TOA and they talked about their different ways to respect themselves being Jewish while being members of their Camps. And there should have been some non-Roman non-Greek Jews who were regular mortal humans, but are important to plot in any way possible without using magic.
Also, Poison Oak should have been a proper character instead of only a one-page "Lavinia''s girlfriend" mention.

It would have been nice to see some Muslim characters besides Samirah al Abbas and Amir Fadlan, ones who (like Amir and unlike Samirah) are not related to any mythological figures and can be plot-relevant without using magic.

Amir Fadlan should have gotten involved in part of the Magnus Chase adventures. He has no magic and is a Muslim, so it would have been nice to see him get character development.
Also, the engagement for his and Samirah al Abbas' arranged marriage (which was because SHE had a crush on him, thankfully, it wasn't her grandparents' idea) should have at earliest started when he and Samirah are 18.
