+ THEODORA MCCRAE.
for: @acedunsmore where: honky tonk
“Finish what you’re doing, we have to talk.”
The what Ace was doing in question was finishing off the happy hour special he had ordered, which had been a little too light on the bourbon that was supposed to be front and centre in the concoction. He downs it regardless, wasting booze was a cardinal sin to him, and then turns on his stool so he can face Theo who seemed to be more intense than usual today.
“What do we have to talk about that’s so ominous?”

Have you ever been nude in public?
“I used to be major into adventure so I used to drag Ace wild swimming with me when we were teenagers, you’d have to ask him if he participated to that level, but you know, you don’t want wet clothes when you get out, and I never had the foresight to take swimwear.” @acedunsmore

Hottest? I'd say @mattycosta , @acedunsmore, @kenzievaisman , @ines-perez , and @lunaerdoganan but I could probably add a lot more.

+ DANNY ANDERSON.
closed: @acedunsmore location: idle spirits & wine
They had started off at Restricted Access, that much Danny could remember. But now, his blue eyes were settled on a group of unfamiliar faces and their ramblings made absolutely no sense to him. He remained still at the back of the small crowd next to Ace, wondering if the other male had any idea what they were doing here. He could vaguely remember talking to a guy…and an Uber ride but nothing was jumping out at him. “Dude, what the fuck is going on?” he whispered to Ace quietly, a few people turning to look at them which made him quickly smile and nod. “Did we just gatecrash these rich assholes?”
“Looks like it, you really think we’re blending in here?” Ace asked while knowing the answer. His faded grey t-shirt had paint stains on it from helping his father re-paint his living room, and he hadn’t bothered to change out of the black work trousers he wore that had a pocket for everything. That would have cut into both his drinking and his Danny time, and he wasn’t willing to sacrifice either of those just to look more presentable.
Then there was his bleach blond bud, looking like some sort of degenerate Where’s Waldo among what Ace assumed was some sort of Bradfordian upper echelon with how they made no secret of the side eye they levelled at the pair of them.
The sommelier cleared her throat in a way that made him feel like she wanted them to shut up, so he did momentarily, folding his arms across his chest as she explained the origins of the Cabernet that she was showing, which Ace had honestly thought was some sort of movie musical.
“Do we get to actually taste anything?” He piped up impatiently, fun facts weren’t going to quench his thirst and he was starting to lose the buzz that they had going in Restricted Access.

+ INES PEREZ.
with: @acedunsmore
where: construction site, end of day.
Ines had been spending the last couple of weeks touring the various construction sites that Mountain View was in charge of, often she’d spend an hour here and there, introducing herself to a couple of people, looking at the work being done, sitting in the on-site office to formally get to grips with the admin side of the business. So far, so good. Most people were welcoming to the new business partner, even if she wasn’t what they had been expecting (her father had certainly left her some big shoes to fill).
This evening though, she’d arrived to site late on. Wanted to walk around and see that things were going smoothly, to check things were being left to a high standard at the end of the day. The odd person still loitered, packing up, but mainly, there was an air of tranquillity.
Too quiet.
Her fingers lift the site login sheet from the desk as she’s heading out the door to begin her journey of the area, scanning over the odd name that was still ticked in, and then she felt it. The lump that lodged in her throat as her feet stopped moving, her focus threatening to burn a hole through the page.
97 days.
That was the amount of time (not that she was counting) that Ines had managed to sneak around the town without so much of a whiff of Ace, the bandaid still firmly wrapped around the wounds she tore open fifteen years prior.
A whole whirl of thoughts buzz around her mind, to just get it over with, to consider leaving before she’s spotted, but none of that matters when she finally tears her gaze from the page to see the name walking straight towards her as if she’s manifested it herself. With no time to prepare, she inhales deeply.
“Hi.”
Hi, she’s already berating herself before she’s spoken, but truly, what else do you say to make up for the biggest fuck up of your teenage years?
With a hardhat tucked under his arm and a tiredness in his muscles that rang home that he had done both a long and hard day’s work, all Ace wanted to do was clock the hell out and get home to hopefully crack open a cold one with his brother and not have to think about what awaited him when he had to return to same job the following day.
While he loved what he did, thought it a good and honest way to earn a living, especially in contrast to those he surrounded himself with who preferred to make their money in more unconventional ways, there were times when he found it difficult. He rarely didn’t see a job through, but a couple of more supplier hiccups and that might change.
It had been that very thing he was heading into the on-site office to discuss, but all notion of it melted away from his mind like poorly laid tarmac on a blistering summer’s day. That’s exactly what his brain felt like as he laid eyes upon Ines Perez after so many years, a useless kind of sludge, words were hard. Was he even blinking? He can’t tell.
Then he hears it.
Hi.
Two letters, a straightforward delivery. It’s entirely too casual from a woman he’s never once been casual about, but he forces something akin to composure to be exuded from him, swapping the hat from one arm to the other like that might buy him a couple of more seconds before he responded.
“How are you... Here?”
It’s a shame it wasn’t closer to Halloween, he might have tried to pass that question off as his best impression of a Neanderthal, his communication skills veering towards prehistoric it seemed in the presence of what had been a ghost who had lived in his memories for as long as she had lived in his presence.

what's your most and least favorite thing about your siblings?
Ace is just a class act. Well-rounded, pragmatic, everything you want in an older brother. Has a good head on his shoulders and just always does right by everyone he cares about, you know? My least favorite thing about him though is that he’s too selfless sometimes? I feel like he gave up a part of himself that he shouldn’t have had to if our circumstances were different. - @acedunsmore
“The baby sis. She’s just a ray of good energy and no matter how you’re feeling, she can cheer you up in a second. It’s super magnetic and can be annoying as fuck too, but I love it. Dyl may also have the tendency to put others before herself too?” - @dylandunsmore
Maybe it’s just got something to do with me being the king of mayhem in the family and both ends trying to protect me from myself at times?”

What do you miss most about your exes? And why did things not work out with them?
"With @hunter-cooke it was bound to go wrong. The moment we started whatever it was, I was searching for a rebound from my high school relationship. That one ended badly and well... Cook was there. What I miss most, is the way I didn't worry as much about things back then with him than I do now."
"Things with @acedunsmore came to a stop because we didn't see eye to eye on a subject that was a hard set thing for me. And I have no hard feelings towards him because of that, I'm happy he was honest about it instead. What I miss most, is his protectiveness over friends and family."
"As for @jamesromanwestwood we stopped things because we realised that we were much better of as friends. And what I miss most... I don't think I miss anything because he's still one of my best friends."

If you had to date an ex, who would it be?
"I think it would be either James or Ace. No offense to Cook. James is one of my best friends, meanwhile I've been together with Ace the longest so that's the reasoning behind it. But in the end, they are my exes for a reason so I don't think it will ever happen again."

Who do you talk about your feelings with?
"Fuckin’ gross, man. Does this look like the Dr. Phil show? No one. Don't ever talk to me like that again." Which isn't entirely true, he's definitely opened up to Hunter and maybe a little to Ace. He definitely doesn't do it often though and tries to keep it away from Angel or anyone who would relay it back to her.

name 5 people who have heavily influenced your life.
“Ace, hands down the biggest influence in my life. Conor is right beside him. Those two are the reason I am the person I am today. Remove them I wouldn’t be me. Umm, I had a teacher in high school who really helped me engage with the work and get me pass where I thought I would be. She’s actually Felix’s mum. Finn, he just showed up one day and became this figure in my life I couldn’t imagine being without. He always lets me offload to him even if all he does his grunt back at me. I always think so highly of him. Vivian, she always inspires me with her heart and her art, I think she’s a great influence and exactly why she’s my best friend.”
