Thinking about the way magnus and the masked assassin messily dance around the very real fact that, while they begrudgingly work together out of the convenience of having a common enemy, their mutual feeling in the loss of a brother (figuratively and literally respectively) bonds them together in a way neither of them would like to admit.

the assassin finds the picture of dethklok and magnus posing together and looking happy on the ground and, rather than ignoring it, he places it with the rest of magnus’s things because he knows no matter how mad hammersmith gets, he’s not going to want to let that go.

and magnus sees the late agent’s bandana draped against a dusty dresser and, though he never knew the assassin’s brother, he gives it a nod of respect every time he passes it from then on. because he knows if mma had to resort to the life he’s at now to cope with the loss, then that brother must have meant every god damn thing to him in the world
