"Yes, probably. He has blue hair and metal bits in his face." He motioned to his face with his hand and frowned a little. "Can I have my bag? Need to get home..."
Ace thought for a moment. "Oh, yeah, I think I have seen him around. He runs that bakery near here, right?" He laughed slightly at the request. "You're in such a hurry. What's the rush?"

The tiniest whine escaped Asher and he frowned at the man. "Yes, need to get home and get these to my Dad." He spread his fingers a little wider at the man and furrowed his brow.
"Oh, you live with your dad? Would I know him?" He stepped slightly closer but the bag was now brought behind his back in almost a casual way.

Asher held his hand out for the bag, eyebrows raised. His other hand moved up to his nose to sniff, pretending he had a little sniffle so the other didn't think he was strange. This man acted a little strange and he was curious if he might recognize an inhuman smell if there was one.
There would be no odd smell, the man was nothing more than human. Ace simply continued to smile at the other man, not even attempting to hand him the bag. "So, you live around here?"

Asher stopped at the shouting, glancing around for whoever the man was calling sir, then realized it was him. He started walking back towards the man and bumped his forehead with the ball of his hand. "Thank you, thank you." He took the bag and chuckled softly.
"It’s no problem! Happens more often than you think." He stood smiling at the boy, still holding the bag by his side, not even holding it out for the customer.

His smile didn't waver and his hand remained on her purse, "No, really, it wouldn't be any problem at all. I'd be glad to, really." His insistence was becoming a bit odd, now, he seemed a bit too adamant about returning into the store to purchase whatever she'd forgotten for her. "It's my job, you know, to make the customer happy." His grip was tight on her bag, threatening despite the smile that remained on his face through all of this.
Cash or Card || Ace & Irene
There was a little hesitation, a little restraint, and she didn’t gauge if it was shyness or disinterest. It truly didn’t matter, but it was intriguing to her, for it could be a disadvantage in the long run, if anything were to happen. If she needed an ally, or a distraction, or a scapegoat, or anything. Of course, the odds were slim that it would come to that, with a silly grocer boy, but Irene liked to keep her options open. Just in case. She was street-smart, and had learned the hard way.
"How sweet of you, smooth talker," His words belayed his earlier laugh, and she wondered if he was playing grown-up, talking like he thought he was supposed to, or if this had worked for him before. Again, it did not matter, but the study of people was oh so very interesting, and she had so many questions in her mind about everyone she met. She could piece them together so well, usually. He was just another one to figure out, in the end. "Maybe I’ll see you around while I’m here at one of them, then. If you can guess the right place." She smiled, all bright and cheery. "Oh, no, it’s fine. I don’t need anything else, and you’ve been more helpful than anyone I’ve met in a long time. I really should recommend you, honey." But of course Irene was not going to go back and brag to management with the contraband she had, though the thrill of it was tempting.

Asher shoved the piece of paper into one of the bags and smiled at the other. "Thank you for helping." He turned to walk off with his bags, glad he could be a little more help around the house for Bron and Priestly.
Ace smiled after the boy, but soon enough was chasing after him, holding a bag he'd forgotten. "Sir! Sir!" He shouted across the parking lot, trying to get his customer to stop.

"Oh!" Asher chuckled and let the other show him how to run the card. "Thank you. It is my Dad's card. First time using it." He hoped the explanation would be good enough. He pushed the buttons and waited for it to go through. "That is all?"
"It's okay, you're not the first person that's had trouble with these machines. Now just type in that number and push 'okay'." He returned to his side of the counter, waiting for the receipt to print out. "Yeah, that's it! Pretty neat, huh?"

Asher glanced at the card, trying to remember the number Priestly had told him. "Debit. Number is..." He started prattling off Priestly's PIN.
"Oh, no!" Ace laughed and gave a small smile. "You don't have to tell me the number, you just put into that thing, there." He pointed to the card reader machine. "After you swipe your card. Here, let me help you." It wasn't rare that he had to go to the other side of the register to help someone (usually the elderly) run the machine. "Just slide it through here nice and fast."

For a moment it almost seemed as though she was flirting with him. Perhaps he was just misinterpreting things. He gave a chuckle at the mention of New Jersey, but it was only for polite purposes, he'd never visited New Jersey before and didn't understand her little joke.
Looking the woman over, Ace noted, "Maybe you're right. Still, I mean, any bar you visit is one I wouldn't mind going to, so long as someone like you is there." He smiled and ducked his head a bit, an almost childish innocence about him.
"I really don't mind going back in for you, you could wait in the car." He stepped closer, smiling as he placed a hand on her arm and slid it down to her purse. "I'd just need your card, I promise I won't buy anything with it other than what you request."

"You’re young. You’ve got all the time in the world," She said, leaning forward a bit as she did. "But I do recommend it. Sometimes when we travel, we find the place that we were meant to call home all along. I’ll tell you mine was not New Jersey.” Wrinkling her nose a bit in play, she laughed just slightly, watching him take care of the groceries, ever aware of her surroundings. She seemed at ease, but the little bit of flightiness he had caught. Irene would wave it off if it were remarked on. She hummed to his words. “Southern Courtesy indeed. Might make my next husband a Southern boy,” A giggle again. “Well what you’ve got to do is just ignore that feeling and go for it. You never know unless you try.” Irene tilted her head to the side and looked at him as he straightened back up, closing her trunk. “Hmmm. I would recommend something, but I’m not sure if we really have the same crowd for bars, honey.” A flash of a smile, and she waved off his offer. “No, no, just thought I forgot something, that was all.” Her purse was still kept close to her, though, and she definitely had not forgotten the merchandise she had stolen.

Asher put the gallon of milk and loaf of bread up to be checked out and smiled politely at the man, holding Priestly's debit card in his hand. "It is cold today," he said, attempting small talk with the man.
Ace smiled at the customer and nodded, "Much colder than yesterday." He scanned the few items, placing them into two separate bags before turning back to his register. "Looks like your total comes to five twenty-six. Debit or credit?" He asked as he nodded to the card in the boy's hand.

"Oh, now that's a shame. I've always wanted to take a trip, travel the world a bit, but I figure I've still got plenty of time for that. Plus, there's still so much more of America to see." He smiled and gave a polite nod to her as she opened the trunk, setting the groceries inside, taking care to place them so they wouldn't fall over. "Well it is the south, southern courtesy I guess." He laughed a bit, though it sounded slightly nervous. "I guess a nice bar would be good. For some reason I always feel like I'm going to end up in the wrong place if I try anything new. Do you have one you visited often while here?" He noticed her glance and looked back at the store as well. "Did you forget something? I could go back in and grab it for you."

"I am," She said, pleasant and chatty enough. "Well, a bit of business too, I’m hoping." Her purse was designer, and she slung the strap up on her shoulder more. The receipt didn’t go inside just yet, she instead folded it and kept it in her hand, keeping her bag close to her. "I’m originally from New Jersey, though I haven’t been there in a long time." She showed no typical accent, that was for sure. "Just got back from abroad not too long ago, and I must say, not everyone over there is as polite as they say." Irene started to walk, leading the way for the grocer to her car. It was a nice sedan parked near the front, but obviously a rental. She hit the fob for the trunk, and turned back to him with a smile. "You don’t get people carrying your groceries to your car anymore, over there or up north." There was a charm to her voice, but it was casual flirtation if anything. "Oh, I would recommend a lot, but it depends on what you are in to. The scenery is lovely anywhere, though." As she spoke, she glanced back at the store, almost as if making sure they were not being followed.

"Oh, you're on vacation in New Orleans?" He smiled as he hit a few buttons on the register and handed her the receipt that printed out. "Can I ask where your coming from?" He scooped up her grocery bags, one in each arm and nodded that she should lead the way to her car as he carried them out for her. "I just moved here, actually, not really familiar with anything yet. Have you found any good places you'd recommend?" He was smiling all the while, seemingly pleased just to be talking with her.

”Your total comes to fifty-two dollars and seventy-three cents, would you like to pay for that with cash or a card?” Ace smiled warmly at the customer, bagging their groceries as he waited for their response.
