depression tipsâ˘
shower. not a bath, a shower. use water as hot or cold as u like. u dont even need to wash. just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. sit on the floor if you gotta.
moisturize everything. use whatever lotion u like. unscented? dollar store lotion? fancy ass 48 hour lotion that makes u smell like a field of wildflowers? use whatever you want, and use it all over.Â
put on clean, comfortable clothes.Â
put on ur favorite underwear. cute black lacy panties? those ridiculous boxers u bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? put em on.
drink cold water. use ice. if u want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.
clean something. doesnât have to be anything big. organize one drawer of ur desk. wash five dirty dishes. do a load of laundry. scrub the bathroom sink.Â
blast music. listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something thatâs got lots of energy. sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
make food. donât just grab a granola bar to munch. take the time and make food. even if itâs ramen. add something special to it, like a hard boiled egg or some veggies. prepare food, it tastes way better, and youâll feel like you accomplished something.Â
make something. write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. even if you donât think youâre good at it.
go outside. take a walk. sit in the grass. look at the clouds. smell flowers. put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.
call someone. call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. talk to a stranger on the street. have a conversation and listen to someoneâs voice. if you canât, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. even if you donât say much, listen to them.
cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. take pictures of them. talk to them. tell them how u feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out.

Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism đđž you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.

Can i request headcanons please? Of ford with a single mother reader with a Child that is friends with dipper and mabel(they probably meet bc of the kids), they are in the town bc reader's ex is an abusive prick that couldn't handle the divorce so they go to gravity falls to start again.
I just really like the thought of ford helping reader to deal with the burnouts and erasing her doubts of being a good mother, also i like to imagine that ford can get very protective over reader and her kid when her ex is around.
Im having a total brainrotđ
//Sorry this took so long! I got busy! I hope you enjoy it, I might turn this into a Drabble of sorts because I donât think I did protective Ford enough justice đŤĄ
-
-you meet because Stanley kicked Ford out for almost blowing up half the house. Ford decided to spend time with the kids so he took them to the Greasy Diner
-Mable was the first to spot your kid and was absolutely drawn to you guys because there werenât a lot of kids their age around. Ford tried to excuse Mableâs behavior and give you two space but you both insisted.
-so the kids sat in one booth and you and Ford sat in another.
-he didnât talk much about himself other than mentioning his brother and the kids. He listened to you intently though
-You are the first non family member he has talked to in a really long time. Heâs nervous as hell but he wants to impress you
-You guys start hanging out more, anytime your kid comes over to hang out with Dipper and Mable, Ford makes an effort to chat with you (Stan teases him each time after you leave)
-you and ford start to hang out more without the kids and thatâs when he learns the reason why youâre here and about your past relationship
-it makes him angry. He doesnât understand why anyone would be so violent. Especially not to you. Youâre so nice and sweet to him.
-he is always there for you and your kid. He takes all three kids out so that you can have time alone. He takes them to the park and to get ice cream
-he is always there for you when you need him. He has stayed up on the phone late nights with you just reassuring you that youâre a good mother. That you are doing your best
-he gets advice from Stan about how to best comfort you during those periods where you feel like you arenât good enough (Stan has had enough experience feeling like he wasnât a good caretaker)
-oh man. The day Ford saw your ex was something else
-you two and the kids were at the park. The kids were occupied with a game and thatâs when you saw your ex. Ford felt you tense up and noticed who you were staring at
-âIâll handle it if they come over here. But for now just focus on the kidsâ
-yeah that didnât last long because your Ex started making their way to your kid.
-ford was up off that bench expeditiously he wasnât going to make a scene in front of the kids but he made sure your ex didnât get any closer to the kids line of sight.
-letâs just say Ford is a man of few words in these kinds of situations

Third code reads âWill there be redemption?â So will Bill Cipher be redeemed after his stay in the Theraprism, perhaps? I hope the mandatory therapy is helping lol
Sometimes we often think only villains are in need of redemption.
But yes therapy is always a good place to start

Ephemeral pt. 2
It had been almost a week and still no word from Stanford, you had never moved in with him so you had your home to reside in. You were a little upset that he had not been by, not even a phone call. You had thought you would run into him at the grocery store or just around town but you shouldâve known better. You hardly saw him during your relationship, why would you now?
You were currently sitting on your couch catching up on one of your favorite TV series when your phone rings. You reach over and pick it up âHello?â
âHeyâ It was Stanley, and he sounded hesitant
âOh hey Stanâ You spoke slowly âUhm. Why are you calling?â
He sighed heavily âI know what happened, and Iâm sorry about my brother. He cares he justâ He trails off âBut he will come around yâknow?â
You were quiet for a moment âYou know, I wanted to be a teacherâ Â your voice soft, this being the first time you had brought this up to Stan.
âReally?â He sounded confused âI thought you were working with Ford, whatever science-y stuff he doesâ
You chuckled softly âI wanted to go to school for teaching, but Stanford said I was âtoo smartâ to waste my talents on that. That my time would be better spent helping him with his researchâ You scoffed and shook your head âNot that he let me help that often, and then he started to shut me outâ
âWhyâd you listen to him?â
âI love him.â
Stan was quiet for a moment âI think youâd be a good teacher. You were always helpful to me when we were kidsâ
âYou were always brilliant Stanley, itâs not your fault some people couldnât see thatâ You had often helped Stan with school, you had always known he was smart. You saw how he and other kids were made to feel less than others, and you vowed never to be like that âI thought I would make a differenceâ
âYou did to meâ He reassured you âI mean, you made me feel smart when we were working on that portalâ He was silent for a moment âI have to go, but hang in there okay? If you need me, you know where to find meâ
âThanks, Stan.â
-
You were now cleaning up the kitchen after making dinner. You were in the middle of clearing dishes when there was a knock on the door. Confused, you slowly made your way to the door not sure who would be over this late.
You peeked out the window and saw Stanford standing on the porch with his hands shoved in his pocket. You sighed but opened the door âHey Fordâ you said softly
He looked almost surprised that you answered the door âH-Hello Darlingâ He stuttered âI-I wanted to talk to youâ
âAbout?â you raised your eyebrow but had not let him in yet.
âMy Multiverse Echo Theory, states that there are many alternate realitiesâ He starts.
âGoodbye Stanfordâ You go to shut the door, but he puts his hand out to stop you.
âWait, please let me explain,â He says quickly, when you make no movements, he nods âAs I was saying my Multiverse Echo Theory states that there are many alternate realities, meaning that there are tons of realities where you and I are together. There are some where we arenât, of course, and there are some where we are just friends, or enemies, and some where we are in a relationshipâ He puts his hands in his pockets âI would like to believe that this is one of the realities where we belong togetherâ
âIt took you a week to come visit meâ you stated.
He nodded. âI apologize for that. I believed, at the time, that you had wanted me to choose between my research and youâ he said âAnd that, quite frankly, was not fair. I have always had a bit of a hard time with understanding people, it causes a lot of miscommunications and has left me quite lonelyâ He sighs âI donât know when to stop, I canât tell when people are mad at me or for what reason. I canât tell when they're mad but will come back or when theyâre just doneâ He hesitated âYou and Stanley were always there for me, and always waited for me to understand. I appreciate that. Then I realized that you never wanted me to pick between you and my research, you just wanted me to divide my time equallyâ
You stared at him, not exactly sure where to begin. You knew he had a difficult time with others, but you were stuck on one single fact âYou thought I was having you choose between our relationship and your research⌠and you picked your researchâ
âIâve been working on this for years,â he says simply. âYou donât understand how much Iâve spent on this, or what it means to me. I have spent my whole life being labeled a freak, but hereâ he looks around âGravity Falls, there are far weirder things than meâ
You shook your head slowly âNo Stanford. Thatâs what you donât get. You think youâve been searching for so long for a place to fit in, but Stan and I have been there for you since the beginning. We were there every time you pushed us out, and anytime you rambled on about finding a place to fit in, we stuck by youâ You straighten your posture âI gave up my dreams to follow you here. Stan gave up any chance at a normal life to stick around, pay your mortgage, and try and bring you back. You couldnât even thank him right off that bat. God, you donât even understand it still now!â
He looked confused and straightened his glasses âYour dreams of being a teacher? No offense, but you could do better things than being a teacherâ
âWill you stop it!â You exclaimed âI could do anything I wanted; I get it. Iâm sorry you donât think Iâm âliving up to my potentialâ but the thought of being a teacher was something that brought me joy. I loved being around kids and seeing their eyes light up when they figured out what they were struggling withâ You continued, âI wanted to make a difference to even just one kid. That would have been enough for meâ
He looked confused now; he opened his mouth and then closed it again for a moment. âI donât understand, I was helping youâ
âHow?!â You could not understand where his logic was right now âYou took me away from my family and my friends, you cut contact with the only other person who understood us, you convinced me that working with you was going to lead to better things. You didnât even let me help youâ You started âThen you got stuck in that portal. I thought I lost you. I didnât know what I was going to do without you! I was scared, Stanford. I just wanted you back.â
âHow do you think I felt? I was stuck in dimensions!â he countered
âThis is not a competition!â You cried out âThis is me trying to get you to see that you had people in your corner, and you kept knocking them down. You cut off your brother, then tried to kick him out when you returned. You ruined any chance Fiddleford had at marriage and years of being a father. You know he was the first one in his family to even go to college?â
âYou leave him out of thisâ He snapped âAt least he helped me more than you ever did with my research. You just kept pulling me from it!â
You opened your mouth to remind him that he never actually let you try to work with him, you didnât get to build the portal or go over notes, all you did was take care of the home, and maybe get to hear his theories if he had time. But you realized this was a pointless fight. âYour Multiverse Echo Theory states that there are many other realitiesâ You started âI keep trying to help you Ford, I let you hurt me time and again because I love you but I donât think you love me as much as you sayâ You glanced down at the ground âI donât think we can be saved in this reality. Â Every good moment we have ever had only existed briefly. I canât spend my life waiting around for those momentsâ
You step back inside your house âI wish you all the best in your research. I hope you achieve everything youâve been missing. I really doâ
And with that, you shut the door.
-
It took you a while but you got things back on track. You moved away from Gravity Falls, all the memories were too painful, and it hurt to even see Stanley, not that it was his fault. You reassured him that this was just something you had to do. You had gotten settled into a nice town in a nice apartment. You had started your new job teaching at a school, you started with elementary school, because you really did miss being around kids.
You were walking around the classroom as the kids worked on their morning bell work, when you noticed one kid, Jullian, had not been working but instead drawing. âAre you okay Jullian?â you asked him gently
âI donât want to do this,â he says not looking up from his sketch
You look at his paper to see a pretty good sketch of a superhero âWhat are you drawingâ
âGalactic Guardian,â he says simply âI like to draw, but I donât like mathâ he showed you the drawing a little better âMy sister knows math better than I do. and my dad tells my momma that I wonât ever figure it outâ He spoke casually while shading in the character's costume âBut no one gets mad at Galactic, he's good at everythingâ
You kneeled by his desk âThis is a very good drawing St-Julianâ You said softly â Just like Galactic, you have strengths that can help you tackle anything, even math!â
Julian blinked âBut Iâm not a superhero in math.â
âMaybe not yet. But remember how superheroes face challenges? They donât give up, and they learn from every battleâ
You point to a problem on his worksheet. âLetâs tackle this one together, step by step. If a superhero can face down a giant monster, I know you can face this math problemâ
Jullian hesitated but then nodded, and you noticed a small flicker of determination igniting in him.
This is what you felt you had been missing. A place where those good moments were no longer few and far between.

Ephemeral
///Good job @nyx-stars and anyone else who cracked the code!
You were waiting patiently at the Greasy Diner, wearing your favorite formal outfit. You had originally come into the diner in awe of the setup, there were fairy lights hung on the ceiling, and a table had a tablecloth with a single red rose and a candle.
You knew Ford had gotten Lazy Susan to keep open the diner for your guy's special date night. But now, as you sit and wait alone, the awe you once felt had faded. Ford was almost an hour late.
âHiya Hun,â Susan said coming up sadly âI-I have to close up soonâ
You didnât make eye contact with her; you couldnât bear to see the pitiful look she was surely giving you. âThatâs Okay Susanâ You blew out the candle and handed her the rose âThank you for letting me stay.â
She smiled sadly and took the rose, handing you a container âPie. For youâ
You started your drive back to the Shack; you were so angry and confused. Ford knew how important tonight was, he had to have known because it was important to him too. Wasnât it?
You got to the Shack, walked in, and slammed the door shut, which startled Stan who had gotten himself comfortable in his armchair.
âWhat are you doing back?â he asked confused then stopped âWait, I never saw Sixer leave.â
âThatâs because he never showed upâ you scoffed.
âWhat?!â He stood up âYou know how long it took me to set that stuff up? And what it took to convince Lazy Susan to stay open lateâ He paused âIt didnât take much convincinâ but still!â
âHe didnât even decorate it?â Your voice was barely above a whisper, causing Stanâs face to fall.
âIt was his idea yâknow. I was just the one who set it up. He said he wanted to get readyâ He explained, âDo you want me to go yell at him or somethinâ?â
You shook your head âI got this.â You made your way to the lab and were soon met with Ford, who was hunched over a desk, mumbling to himself.
âFord.â The sound of your voice seemed to startle him because he whirled around.
âOh, Hello my darling!â he said cheerily âWhat are you doing down here?â
âYou missed our dinner.â You ignored the flutter in your chest at that nickname.
âI probably didnât miss much; Stan was talking about ordering pizzaâ He chuckled turning back to his work
âOur dinner. Ford.â You repeat.
He paused and turned to look at you âOur dinner to celebrateâŚâ He trails off âOh my love, I am sorry. I was just about to get ready when I realized something. Do you remember my Multiverse Echo Theory? Every event that occurs in Gravity Falls creates a ripple in the fabric of reality, leading to the formation of alternate dimensions.â He recalls excitedly âI believe that if I can find a way to tune into these echoes, I could access knowledge or maybe even resources from other dimensions that could help uncover the mysteries of this town! I have been working on a device that can track and measure these dimensional fluctuationsâ He paused and glanced back at his notes âHowever, one could argue about the ethical implications of meddling with the multiverseâ
Just like that, you had lost him again to his work. He was no longer paying attention to you. âFord you missed our dinnerâ You repeated.
âYes, I apologize for that dear,â he says not looking at you, but writing down in his journal. âWe could reschedule for tomorrow.â
âThat is not the point Stanford!â You were tired, having little to no fight left in you anymore. Not for another conversation where you had to beg him to give you even the tiniest bit of attention even for a moment. The only reason you hadnât given up was because there had been times when it felt like Ford was improving, that you didnât have to fight for his attention.
He taught you some of his favorite meals to cook. He drove an hour out of town to take you to a bookstore. He wrote you poems. He was there when you woke up in the morning. That was probably your favorite part. Rolling over to be met with his warm body instead of the cold, empty side of the bed. It hurt to know he would rather go straight to the lab in the morning, that was if he had even come to your shared room in the first place.
âI donât understand,â He says âYou want a dinner, I will make plans for us to have dinner tomorrow. But for now, would you like to help me?â he waved over to his notes âStanley made Dipper go to bedâ
âYou arenât listening to me, Stanford!â You cried out âThere are other things that can give your life meaning. More important things than⌠than this!â You said gesturing to the lab.
âWhat?â Ford replied shortly âLike you?â
You stood frozen. Is that really what he thought about your relationship? About you? âI think you should apologizeâ
âAnd I think you should leaveâ His back was towards you.
âFineâ You whispered, âI canât watch you do this to yourself anymore Ford.â
âLike itâs so difficult for you?â He muttered.
âYes! It breaks my heart to see you this way! You spent your childhood chasing after a place where you could fit in, somewhere where you would find love. You completely ignored your brother who was there for youâ You started âAnd now you are starting to completely ignore me, I thought you would change once we got you back with the portal. I thought you would be differentâ Before Ford had gotten sucked into the portal, your relationship was a bit rocky, but you chalked it up to the fight he had with his brother, but he only continued to ice you out. It was good for the first few months when he came back, but now he started to isolate himself again.
You had dedicated your life to helping Ford feel like he belonged, and you stuck by Stanley as he tried to bring back his brother. âI gave up everything for you Stanford!â
âI never asked you toâ
âYou did when you said you loved meâ
He stared at you for a long while before he turned away and went back to his desk.
You felt defeated. You looked down at your hand and slipped off the ring. âGoodbye Stanfordâ You set the ring on top of his journal and walked out. You didnât even bother packing a bag, you just got in your car and drove off.
