Day 25 I might have skipped a couple of days... Consistency is hard, yo! Anyway, I’m back with another drawing. Trying out the Loomis method. Pro tip: can’t draw faces? Draw a helmet instead :D

Woops, I missed a day. Been busy at work. Anyway, here is the finished headshot.

It’s goddammned awful and I hate it. This is apparently part of the process? I need to figure out faces.

Day 3

Focusing in seemed to go well yesterday so today I’ve gone for a headshot. Mostly wanted to get the hair right. I’m not entirely happy with it but it’s certainly getting there. Starting to get the hang of using layers but still had a few mishaps when I coloured the whole page yellow. I think I’ll keep working on this tomorrow but once again time has gotten away for me and I’ve gotta DM in about 9 minutes!

Day 2

I couldn’t get the goggles right yesterday and it was bothering me so today I’ve focused on them. Some of the lines are a bit ragged and circles are really hard to do. They look pretty reasonable though. I think tomorrow I’ll try a headshot with the goggles on.

Day 1

Ta da! I did an art!

So the thing I'd most like to be able to do is draw OCs, hence this is where I'm starting.

She was supposed to be a kind of steampunky person. I started with the circle blobs for a head and body then added arms and stuff. When I tried to add hair and clothes and started mixing up the layers and got a bit lost. I had a great idea to have her leaning on bar but turns out this actually takes time. Who knew? This whole project occurred to me kind of late so I've left it there cause I need to sleep

At least it's recognisably human!

So I guess I should make an introduction of some sort?

I'm Ace and I love seeing all the cool stuff people draw. I also see a lot people saying they can't draw at all. I'm in that category. So, I'm going to try and learn. The plan is to post here as regularly as life allows, hopefully daily, and in a few years have a really cool record of like what the process of learning how to draw looks like?

Every post about how to learn art seems to boil down to just start and keep practicing. So that's what I'm going to do. I'm using Krita and I've got a wacom tablet and that's it. Maybe in the future I'll get other stuff but for now this already seems a bit overwhelming. I'm also not really good tumblr either, I just kind of skimm through it and occasionally reblog something I want to find later. So if I don't use the right hastag or whatever go easy on me.

Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble. I hope this isn't completely terrible. Here comes my first art post!
