Pack-down day :’(
Pack down was much shorter than setting everything up, I helped with taking all the posters down and patching up holes

EXHIBITION DAY
I picked up our prints in the morning ( not leaving it to the last second or anything...) and headed into uni at around 4 to help out.
People seemed to enjoy our postcards!!!
And our presentation went pretty smoothly! Overall, it was such a fun night and I felt very proud of all the work we’ve done as a class and a group.
Our final presentation video can be found here...

GROUP MEETING - Final Presentation Animation
We had another group meeting to perfect the final presentation animation, practice the script and ensure that the timing of everything was working.
The presentation of the final designs was the most important part, so I developed a storyboard for ingvild to follow.

I also created a (very clunky) gif to give ingvild an idea of how the slides can be animated

PRINTING
We decided to print some postcards to show how our designs could adapt to different purposes, but also for visitors of the exhibition to take home.
I sourced a few prices
We ended up going with MS print, as I have printed with them before and know that they are reliable and fast.
We decided to print 3 designs, 50 of each. One that would show off ingvilds illustrations, one to showcase the collage, and one infographic to allow people to digest all the information on there.
I slightly adapted the layout of the simple and collage posts to fit a postcard size.

FINAL PRES. SCRIPT

Once the *rough* script was developed, based on our notes, as well as reffering back to our strategic proposal, and explaining our concept more in detail, as it has developed from the initial stages. We discussed how each section will be broken up visually, how long it will run for and how transitions etc might look.
We decided that while ingvild worked on finishing the Ipad video, Kyle and I would develop photoshop documents, with all the elements, that ingvild could then make move, for the final presentation.
They all looked something like this, with all the elements named and sorted.

TEAM MEETING - Discussing Final Presentation
2 HOURS
We met in week 9, after the final print documents were submitted, to begin discussing the final presentation.
We decided that ingvild was not going to speak, however, that mean that she could help with animating the visuals.
We jotted down how we wanted to say certain points, and then I was trusted to develop the rest of the ‘script’. We also all started sketching out some storyboards and how we pictured things being laid out.
In this meeting, we also discussed how we wanted our works to be presented on the Ipad, and Ingvild was to create that animation also.

FINAL PRINT PRESENATION
Ingvild helped to source mockups, while I pulled everything together for submission, and determined the best way to display the gifs. In the end, our mockups remain clean and simple, as our designs are quite detailed and busy at times, we wanted to ensure that that was the main focus of our presentation.

GIF DEVELOPMENT
Kyle focused on changing the infographics, while I created the gifs, or at least the stills, to submit for the final printed presentation.
Alot of back and forth in this time, and constant communication, keeping each other awake throughout the all-nighters
To create the gifs, I created each still ensuring that the text was lined up correctly, and edited the text slightly for some of the gifs to give the illusion that it was nestled amongst the scene.
I did this for each gif, and then using the “frame animation” tool on photshop, was able to make them flash.
I was able to create these 2 and then send over the stills to kyle to animate the others, while I focused on our final submission files.

FINAL PRESENTATION - REVISITED
After receiving feedback for our final designs:
- All designs are a little too busy
- Contact info isn’t needed, especially on social media posts.
- Look into creating gifs and simplifying texts.
- “Plastic ends here” stronger than “connect the dots...”, ditch the connect the dots.
We spent the next 24 hours adjusting and perfecting our designs.
The “simple” posts were easy to adjust, I simple removed the contact info and adjusted the green post to remove the ‘connecting the dots’

... and all posts were placed into instagram mockups

FINAL PRESENTATION
Soooo much back and forth in the days leading up to the final presentation

BUT WE MADE IT IN THE END!
I did up some mockups for the social media campaign and infographic, and we put some effort into making our final presentation cohesive with our designs.

FURTHER SOCIAL MEDIA DEVELOPMENT
To link in with our overall concept this design needed to show the flow on effects of plastic waste in our waterways, I asked ingvild to develop an illustration for this.
I developed another 2 posts from quotes, facts and call to actions that we brainstormed. The main focus of these posts was to provide the shocking and thought provoking way in a super simple format, easily editable for the ecocentre and straight to the point for audiences that have been drawn in by the more in-depth designs.
They also gave me an opportunity to fully hash out and play with the text style and layout
