In Sula, fire is significant because of how members of the Peace family die in different situations related to burning. Eva sets Plum on fire because she doesn’t want him to live as he is in the state of PTSD. Hannah, who trips into a canning fire while Sula watches her burn. Then Sula is sick and feeling like she is burning from the inside out..
The fire is important because it represents the destruction of things. Sula begins by discussing how the Bottom was redeveloped into a golf course. I think the term was something like “whitewashing” the area.

When Rorschach first showed up sitting in the window like that it almost as if he was the villain. His colorlessness against the background of both the city behind him and then the rest of the room had a somewhat negative aura to it. To me presentation of Dr. Manhattan was a bit awkward, his coloring as apposed to the background was totally opposite to what we saw with Rorschach. He just seemed so emotionless and confused, not to mention totally uninterested in anything happening around him. Ozymandias wants to be seen and his aesthetic shows that. Gold and purple against the grayscale city around him. Presenting himself as an important figure. I’m not sure why but I think the realism of colors for Nightowl seem to present that his is the most centered in the realistic situation that they are in. So, Rorschach is trying to tell everyone what has happened and why he thinks it’s happening, Dr. Manhattan doesn’t really care, Ozymandias doesn’t think that it will happen to him and Nightowl knows that it probably will.
