Marinette pretends to have a normal life, but she doesn’t. She is under great pressure. She cannot and doesn’t allow herself to relax. Monarch has almost all the Kwamis because of her. She just wants that to end. She still sees herself as a superhero, but with Monarch out of the way and the Miraculous all recovered and back in the Miracle Box, she can breathe, have a normal life with a boyfriend, get married and eventually have kids. Something she had daydreamed about before but seems so out of reach and is mourning right now because too much is at stake.

Adrien, on his end, still has depression. He is not a model anymore, but judging by his room, he is stuck playing video games, an activity that requires the minimum attention. He is bored, he is alone (no offense, Plagg), his father is more absent than ever. But this dream of being in couple with Ladybug, spending all their time together and having an actual family life? No wonder Chat Noir was furious when he woke up from it.
