Its been whole 2 years since our last live cosplay event, let's talk about ACP event planning in 2022 (TLDR)! Hi! We hope you're doing well in these crazy times. Things have been pretty quiet here, but with conventions starting to happen it's time to start thinking about events again. We don't take that statement lightly - we've been interally debating whether the time was really right or not. But with the pandemic numbers improving, companies reaching out to us about our plans, and no breakout reports from the conventions that have already happened, we hold hope that we can resume our activities safely. Safely is the key word here too - we'll be monitoring the situation and if things get worse, we won't hesitate to cancel. But it's because of that uncertainty that we need to plan early; it's easier to cancel plans two weeks before a con than deciding at that time and scrambling. Plus, earlier notice is always appreciated when needing to work on costumes (raise your hand if you haven't sewn in the past two years!). Everyone has different risk tolerances - if you don't feel ready for conventions yet, we understand and hope to see you when you do feel comfortable enough! For those that are ready to jump back in, keep an eye out here as we start announcing casting calls. We are tentatively looking at Anime Boston and Anime Central. We will be keeping safety as the highest priority - adhering to convention protocols, even exceeding them if we feel necessary. The past two years have also given us plenty of time to reflect and approach the way we do events a little differently, with changes that will definitely benefit everyone involved. If you've had stage fright or had some other factor keeping you from participating before, there's no better time to try than now - we've all done our timeskip, it's time for a fresh start! Ultimately, we can't wait to see you all, whether through volunteering or just saying hi at the convention floor. It's been too long, and we're super excited to bring back the chaotic fun of events at cons!
