   She had, once again, fallen asleep in the courtyard. There was a lovely spot underneath a tree where she had had a pillow placed under, so that she might read in peace for a time. However, more often than not, the princess ended up closing her eyes a liiiittle too long and before she knew it, hours would have passed and she would wake to the irate face of one of her handmaidens, mentally chastising her for her irresponsible behavior.

   Luckily, neither the handmaidens nor Impa had been able to locate her yet, if they’d even noticed her absence, so she was peacefully snoozing away the afternoon.

Finally breaking the thousand yard stare, he stared instead at his trembling hands. He could guess the reasons why Zelda wasn’t asleep and here. Some of the guesses formed from his nightmare and quickly tossed aside. 

“Tea…?” Tea sounded nice, but he needed one that wouldn’t put him back to sleep, not yet at least. Not after that. “I would like some but ya don’t have ta make it. Yer the guest after all.”

He couldn’t look up at her, not until he regained more composure, at least. How long had she been there? 

“Is everythin’ alright?”

   “Guest?” Zelda smiled gently, a soft chuckle escaping her. “I don’t know, I seem to have trespassed, in all fairness.” The smile faded as her mind began to move back towards the thoughts that had kept her from waking him in the first place. “I... apologize for appearing at such an hour, and unannounced at that.”

   Perhaps avoiding his question was purposeful, perhaps she didn’t hear him, but whatever the reason, the monarch crossed had already moved towards the ladder and begun her descent. She wasn’t wearing any real sort of regal attire, clad instead in fairly plain traveling clothes, so her movement was unhindered and virtually silent.

          The princess’s words, despite the topic of conversation, brought a warm smile to the Gerudo’s lips. “I thank you for that kindness. Things will look up someday.”

   Wounds such as the ones Nabooru’s people had suffered were hard to heal, especially when those who inflicted them did not seem to recognize their folly. Zelda knew, however, and though her efforts might be met with resistance, she was determined to try and make reparations to the Gerudo in whatever way she could. “I-” she started, fully intending to unload what skeletons of a plan she had but, seeing Nabooru’s face, decided against it, “I can only hope that they will.”
