Starting today (Wednesday) face masks are now required for everyone. Wish they'd give us more notice than 6 hours before the shift begins (when us night folk are sleeping) before it goes into effect

Phases
So here is how things have been unfolding here compared to other buildings.
Phase 1 of adapting was the cancelling of in person things like stand up, group streaches, and other things. Expanded to include allowing phones inside.
Phase 2 was distancing and removing some of the time clocks and other things that cause congregation. Also introduced staggered start times, breaks, and end times by shift code so less crowding at breaks and lunch.
Now it's phase 3, all managers, PAs and ambassadors are to wear masks (others are encouraged to), they are heavily monitoring distance and issuing write ups for repeat offenders of it. Mandatory start of shift temperature checks on entering the building. Cannot be in the building when it's not your work day and can't be in too early (only 15 minutes early) I'm usually 45 early because of my role. That last one is stupid because if we want to talk to HR we have a small window before shift or breaks because they all leave before shift is over.
Related: these store hours are killing us. No 24hr groceries, the earliest is Safeway @ 7am. Fred Meyers is open at 7 but reserve 7-8 for the elderly. Which means even if we can stay up for them, they are picked clean of the things we need. And even getting to Safeway at 7:07am (checked my phone when I got to the spot) and making a beeline for toilet paper, they were completely out. Rice is still hard to get too but meat isn't as hard thankfully.

Something tricky I'm noticing with the new hires is they are being brought on a seasonal workers. All 22 tonight are the white badge seasonals (solid blue are full time, perminant) which makes sense given the hiring goals but is kinda sneaky. Also is that our mandatory OT might end in the next 2 weeks as our backlog has been steadily dropping still.

List of building that so far have confirmed cases. Luckily nothing new me or some we receive materials from. But seeing it's format I'm semi skeptical of it. We still have BDL5 as somewhere we send things but never receive from them as they are a sort center not an FC

Not a great quality photo but they have moved to staggering start, break, and end times to make sure we maintain that social distance. I am an NA7, in group 2. It's been a rocky roll out to adjust to the new times and planning accordingly because ofCPT times and volume spikes but it's what we have to do

Ambassador
So after deciding they didn't need me for the year, because of the massive hiring we are starting, they have decided to retrain me today (Wednesday, 3/25) which on one hand is nice because I'll be getting paid to do the training that I know 90% of it (there are some new modules for videos we have to show now but that is easy).
Other hand it feels rather insulting because I am well skilled both at my area and train at least 100 employees across front half and back (which was a pain to do since I was on there to do their day 1 training and not day 2
One or the current ambassadors showed me all the modules we have now and our carts now have 7 modules on their own which is ridiculous because they are easy and it takes more time to input the modules than to teach them. The jam clearing module inclusion were actually MY idea to make it required and they adopted that as new standard of work for new hire training. Which is why the retrain feels insulting to me.

Update though is our back log is still super big and mandatory over time is still being called but we aren't seeing the volume we should and are actually having to cancel trailer loads for lack of work. Our building is siting at roughly 1.2 million units with the average "day" (day and night shift combined) being around or just under 500,000. But that includes new orders that are being prioritized like household goods and other essentials. We have the capacity to do more but it feels like they restrictions are throttling us and postponing work we could be doing now with the people we have, especially for those on OT.

Choas
It's pretty much chaos here. Work is running in mandatory overtime with asking for volunteers to stay 30 minutes after too because the huge spike in demand as more and more people are ordering online for things they want/need.
On top of that you might be noticing or hearing how things are closing here in Oregon during this. Things got bare enough that WinCo had to close it's stores for 8-10 hours to restock shelves.
Only benefit for us is that they are giving a $2 an hour raise until the end of April to keep people in. Dya shift keeps coming in light or leaving at lunch so it's been hard for us walking in to it.
PA application is still under consideration so nothing new there. I wonder when they will make their choice. Might try the HR office and see if they updated the board with the number of open positions.
But a lot of complaining from people at my building and others about being open still with some arguing because they need the money. And weird things like this. Which applies to new things coming in, not items going out of fulfillment centers like mine.

It'll be fun to try, I got a Traeger smoker/griller. Not a huge one but it'll be nice for making good food at home like smoked brisket, pork, ribs, chicken and other things.
